Did Tahu sign + what do you think of Reddy?

Hey there Parra people, just pondering some things.

Did Tahu actually sign with you guys or is that all still depending if he is released and such?

Is anyone here concered that his hamstrings will render him out in big passages for the rest of his career? He would have had the best treatment in the NRL and ARU but its something that seems impossible to rid once it becomes chronic (I suffer from it myself).

Also what is the general feeling towards Joel Reddy as a centre?

Personally from an outsider looking in, I think he is a good finisher and is more a winger. He does not posses much agility or any form or real line breaking skills. He and Pomeroy from the game I saw on the weekend seemed a good match in that neither really possess any great creative attacking ability.

However his abillity in the corner was outstanding to ground the ball and I think he is a better finisher than creater.

Would he move to the wing should Tahu be signed?

Tahu's signing has not been anounced but is pretty much inevitable. It's up to the club when they issue a media release to announce a signing and sometimes they hold back a bit to things are fully finalised, or announce them in bulk if there are signings but also re-signings at a similar time. He'll probably spend some time on the sidelines due to his injuries but hopefully plays the bulk of a season.

Disagree with Reddy, he has proven himself as a centre. He is very strong in defence, one of the best defensive centres in the game right now, and his partnership with Grothe is working and they swap back and forth in attacking close to the line. If given the ball in space he is strong and hard to stop and he also has a great fend and can offload a pass if needed. I don't understand why you see him only as a winger.

I would expect both Reddy and Tahu will be playing in the centres next year, with Inu and Burt fighting out for the open wing spot.

Reddy has been one of our most consistent players over the past 2 seasons and deserves his spot in the centres. Inu can fight for a wing spot with Grothe & Burt

Reddy is incredibly underrated as a centre. He is deceptively quick and makes great decisions. Plus, his defence is outstanding...can count on one hand the amount of defensive blunders Guru has made this season, alot of that is down to Reddy's help, he cust of alot of moves before they get that far.

Fair enough, I overlooked his defensive ability and was concentrating on attacking creativity. He just doesnt seem like he is going to break the line unless put through it.

But I have not watched him as much as Parra fans and in your favour is the fact I have a knack of bagging players in all sports only to see them go on to conquer the world. Andrew Symonds owes his career to me.........

Well he is not that kind of centre. . He's not a player who's going to score from 40 metres out, but he makes up for it in other areas. Spread the ball to him inside the 20 and he's quick enough and strong enough to score, or he'll draw in defenders allowing him to set up Grothe to score. He may not be a superstar, but he is a footballer through and through and always knows the right option to take in attack. Whether to take the tackle, whether to pass, whether to run. He's very smart in that regard. He's pulled off some massive trysavers this year too.

He has 8 Line Breaks in 19 games. That's pretty good numbers.

He is great at giving good early ball to Grothe in the opposition 20 and that leads to tries.

They have a ood partnership going and hopefully it continues to improve.

Joel is going awesome.

He is a particularly good finisher and would be great on the wing, but is currently going very well in the centres as well and deserves his spot.

Behind Hayne, he's easily been our second best back.

On a side note, I've been gobsmacked with how slow Inu is. I thought he had some toe, but twice recently I've seen him in open space and looking like his boots are made out of cement. Both times he's been cut down - no try. That troubles me.

Apparently he still has his toe but is still being troubled by a sore his leg somewhere which is restricting him getting into full stride or something to that degree.

True - although recently in attack he and Grothe have been swapping positions - and it's working brilliantly.

Fair enough, and on the bold part, I think it was either this weekend or last but I did catch him make a great try saver in the corner.

Do line break stats include where you run through a hole or when you are the one that breaks the line? real question, in the official states what constitues a line break?

How old is Inu now? Would he be 24 yet?

Hey and while I got you all here, how has the new board been changing things up?

Is everyone happy about the change as it seemed to be or is there a bit of a split?

What are the new mob doing that the old bunch werent that will see you realise some of the massive potential that has gone to waste in recent times?

They've installed a new CEO for a start who is working to make our club better and take us in a completely new direction which is extremely positive. They haven't really had the oppurtunity to do too much at this stage as expected.

A line break is where you break the line... whether you break through a tackle and make a run, or where you simply run through a hole. As long as you break the line of defence it's considered a line break generally.

reddy has been scoring tries at centre for 2 seasons straight now. i don't care how he does, it's obviously working at centre

totally agree the extra man Grothe brings in to him leaves that little bit more of space .....imagine a centre pairing of Tahu and Guru? hhhhuuuuuuuuuuuugeeeee:sarcasm:

I think Reddys Finishing and ability under the high ball makes him a perfect option for the wing and he is quick over 20 but like mentioned over 40 is not that quick.

Inu has been critized but he has played well in the centres over the last few weeks and his defence and attack has imporved. I dont know how I would play it atm but Tahu, Inu, Reddy and Grothe would be my 2-5 while burt is playing well I think Inu, Reddy and Grothe have more to offer but burt will get his fair share of games with injuries and rep duties inevidable.

I really hope that's what it is. He definitely looks off the pace. Hopefully a good off-season can fix that up.
