Well, my biggest critisism of Reddy last year was his missed tackles in defence. Id love to know his stats for missed tackles this year.

29 missed tackles in 18 games at 1.6 per game, and 194 total tackles

I respect those stats. Let's also keep in mind he also makes twice as many tackles per game than anyone else playing in the centres for Parra.

Hey there Parra people, just pondering some things.

Did Tahu actually sign with you guys or is that all still depending if he is released and such?

Is anyone here concered that his hamstrings will render him out in big passages for the rest of his career? He would have had the best treatment in the NRL and ARU but its something that seems impossible to rid once it becomes chronic (I suffer from it myself).

Also what is the general feeling towards Joel Reddy as a centre?

Personally from an outsider looking in, I think he is a good finisher and is more a winger. He does not posses much agility or any form or real line breaking skills. He and Pomeroy from the game I saw on the weekend seemed a good match in that neither really possess any great creative attacking ability.

However his abillity in the corner was outstanding to ground the ball and I think he is a better finisher than creater.

Would he move to the wing should Tahu be signed?

My two cents:

(1) Tahu is like an old Maserati - has brilliant performance, a great lineage in terms of the sport, but is slightly unreliable (in terms of injury). But most people would kill to own a Maserati, and the Eels are no different. He may miss a few games due to injury, but he is all CLASS, both on and off the field.

(2) Reddy has matured and transformed into a brilliant player that can play anywhere in the backline with ease imo.

I really hope that's what it is. He definitely looks off the pace. Hopefully a good off-season can fix that up.

Yeah - the pace thing doesn't worry me as it will come back - he obviously has some sort of injury there.

My bigger concern with Inu is some of the poor things he does during matches. He threw a pass from dummy half on Sunday which went over the heads of two players - not far from the Sharks goal line. He just doesn't seem to be concentrating on what he is doing.

Then earlier this year he bombed a certain try when he dived waaaay too early for a Burt kick. Just really silly stuff.

That still needs some work.

Having said that, the numbers over the last 3 weeks would be far superior, and in addition he has made some really massive tackles including not just stopping dangerous situations but forcing the turnover.

gee it's a far cry from the moans and groans last year, of his constant selection every Tuesday.

About 27 of those missed tackles were on Jennings, were'n't they?

But Joel's improving week to week, and based on form last year and this is a first choice option in the three quarter line. Inu only is first choice because of his pricetag, not his form of the past 18 months.

Inu has been critized but he has played well in the centres over the last few weeks and his defence and attack has imporved. I dont know how I would play it atm but Tahu, Inu, Reddy and Grothe would be my 2-5 while burt is playing well I think Inu, Reddy and Grothe have more to offer but burt will get his fair share of games with injuries and rep duties inevidable.

burt at this stage has to be ahead of Inu for that #2 jersey for 2010

Reddy would be the most improved at the club. His defence this year keeps getting better and better as the weeks go by. And his combination with Grothe is causing headaches outwide for opposing teams.
