How do we know we the eels have not signed several new players. It's not like we have ossy in charge who loved the media. Maybe we are not showing our cards yet. Really we cant argue about our recruitment for 2013 until the season starts next year because any time between now and then we can sign players.

Let's not forget the massive list of players unsigned for next year. We're not the only club that hasn't signed all those blokes.

Been reading and reading most of the posts posted in this forum for the last three weeks or so. In a nutshell, we should have a first class nrl coach who recognises the unique talents of our nrl squad and bring together both an attacking and defensive game to suit our squad. SK FAILS IN THIS AREA BIGTIME. Forging a team game where players are working together for 80 minutes does not occur. Running 3rd last last year and running last this year with just ONE win so far this year. This is totally unacceptable. Michael Cleary, John Cartwright & Des Hasler seem to have the skills SK is lacking. They are making wins with players who are mostly just toilers. Yes, they have some attacking brilliance but overall their squad is average. We are supposed to be winning games but this is beyond SK & co. When is enough enough? We have Hayne, Hindy, Fui Fui, Poore, Mannah, Allgood, M Keating, Sandow, Reni, Luke Burt & hot and cold Roberts. With these players, why are we not winning more games? Is SK a top class nrl coach? I say NO! The buck stops with SK. If we lose to the Sharkies on Monday night does SK still keep his job? How many more loses before he gets the flick?

sorry mate .... i just realise that you know everything, so I just had to believe it

If you believed it you wouldn't have f**king questioned it.

It's more likely that you seized on whatever you could to try and prove me wrong. If it helps your self esteem to believe I think Mortimer was on half a million a year, fill your boots.

I just want you to be happy mate.

And it was also rumoured the eels withdraw their offer two weeks ago. Since kearney and Nolan took I am with you and would believe jack sh?t of what is in the paper.

I've been saying all along that T-Rex is a waste of money, and since Kearney and Nolan are smart blokes, I'd say the most likely option is that they would have realised this themselves and told big Tony to get f**ked.

The point about Eels players not knowing how to prepare etc because of the changeover of coaches is a good point. But if a coach can't win games regularly, or, more than once, then we need a new coach.

We've also had four in the last six.

The Bulldogs have had two in the last four and Moore likely wouldn't have changed Folkes' system too much, whereas we know Hagan unravelled everything Brian Smith did because Jason Taylor publicly got up him for it.

Does anyone ever wonder what might have been if Jason Taylor had been given the job long term back when we chose Hagan???

The only comments that I have regarding this email is this -

1. Please please... If you were told anything in confidence , please keep this confidence.
2. Peter Nolan is the best in the business bar none. As long as we keep him, we will be in good shape. I don't know if Kearney will survive or not but we CANNOT lose Nolan. The broncos would do anything to get him back.

I also agree , reckon loco has the potential to became that wide running forward we need. I would prefer to use the funds to resign poore and two other quality and regular nrl players that are not superstar forwards. For example a Chris Houston a Gavin cooper a Joel Thompson a etc

I do, can't believe we never kept him. He did great in half season with us. Also I reckon his time at souths has been under valued , he got them to th finals in his first year. Then in the following two or so years did a good with bringing a lot juniors up into the nrl side. He would have been one coach who I believe would have got the best out of our last batch of potentially very good juniors if given time: Mateo, inu, wellar, Blake green, oake, zeb, cordoba. All players he coached

Yes, our situation is exactly like Newtowns in 1983! Especially with our financial position and juniors...

The point is just because a team loses a grand final doesn't mean they're building to anything.

Stop throwing up 2009 as a sign the club was building to anything. We have missed the finals two years in a row since then and will almost certainly miss the finals again.

Similarly, in 2001 we made the grand final then went on to miss the finals twice in the next three years.

And how long were we in the top 8 for in 2009 ? I believe only the final round !!

f**ken oath.

You must be a smart bloke too, Joshuatheel, because I often find myself agreeing with you. Loko is the future, but not at centre.

And I would also re-sign Justin Poore, but don't tell SDM I said that.

I too thought Jason Taylor was the next big thing and was sad to see him go. The only consolation was that Michael Hagan was coming and as everybody knows, what a coach does in his first season is a great indication of how good he is. And Hagan won a premiership in his rookie year.

But when Taylor was sacked by Souths and no other club wanted him I realised I had been wrong about Jason Taylor.

Except maybe the only reason he's not coaching first grade is because he doesn't want to. I hear loads of gun coaches just don't feel like it.
