Also, while I am here...

Poupou, your ignorance relating to Rd. 13 (which is an extremely important date in terms of recruitment and thus building a team) is a glowing sign of the fact that you are generally an ignorant f**kwit.

I don't care about your replies that will simply be repetitions of your incessant blah blah blah.

STFU.

How do we know we the eels have not signed several new players. It's not like we have ossy in charge who loved the media. Maybe we are not showing our cards yet. Really we cant argue about our recruitment for 2013 until the season starts next year because any time between now and then we can sign players.

My biggest concern is that we are allegedly chasing the big name players - offering them shite loads of cash yet they don't sign because of this shite mess we are in - and can you really blame them?

Case in point - Trex

You assume that's the case but you base it on what you read in the paper.
Last I heard, T-Rex, hasn't signed anywhere, but I don't even know if that is true, because I read it in the paper.
If you want to tear yourself up about shit you don't know, go for it champ.

And it was also rumoured the eels withdraw their offer two weeks ago. Since kearney and Nolan took I am with you and would believe jack sh?t of what is in the paper.

Ok, and there are posters who wonder why so little infpormation gets posted, it seems to give some the opportunity to keep ponmting fingers and carry on

If you wonder why it is necessary to have a plan, think about the last juniors that came through (Haynde. Mannah, Inu and Mateo) all from the Smith era, when Rocket got control with no in put from Hagan and DA, we have got nowhere. The Dogs have spotted and recruited, Kasiano, Tapai and Lafai to name a few, evem Manly dod better than us.

Hwne you create the base , you can add some decent first graders to nmake the siide competitve. I spoke to Reddy who said he never looked aty size or speed as it was skills he wnt for. So you get POH. who has good skills but will be tough to get to the size needed.

I dont like what is going on in terms of results, but fmd we need this to happen. to get a platform for the future. Otherwise we het what we have seen since BS left. At least my grandsons are winning in the junior league, that brings a smile every week watching them play

Who is arguing the actual plan though??? I think most of us just don't think the coach is up to it!

All the talk that has gone on sounds great and obviously is needed, it is the poor execution and very poor coaching that seems to be the problem.......

14th last year, stone motherless last this year and word from in the club is that we are just hoping the likes of Seage, Eisenhuth and Jennings come through later next year........so that will be3 years gone........do you wonder why people are not confident in his ability????

Ok im fairly sure melbourne where given first dab at juniors from QLD?? I remember reading it years ago.A deal with the nrl to help them when first started.

Obviously you dont have to live where you play but could you imagine traveling from Manly to Penrith each day.3-4 hrs a day travel wouldnt be very apealing.

As far as juniors go.
Allgood-Sio-Loko- have all come thru in the last 12 mths. They wouldnt have nothing to do with SK.Either would Vai-Terepo-Barba or Gagan who people all rate highly and will probably be in first grade within the next 12-18 mths.
Sometimes you get lucky with juniors.

Penrith are in the exact same position as we are.But whut a worse squad and a lot more rebuilding to do they seem to be putting in better performances. Ivan has made tought calls at different times. And hasnt been worried about getting mud in his face.
The juniors SK brings in wont be seen for about 3-5 more years to be realistic.he ones coming thru now would be from Hagan and ANDO

It wasn't first crack it was more the amount of money they had in recruitment funded by news limited. The coin their colts teams were on over the years was astronomical compared to other clubs. Plus O'Sullivan was very good at his job, he had eyes or scouts everywhere. They changed how the Broncos did their junior recruitment and development hence entered Nolan into a role.

How was I 'caught out'? I could make up any shit I want about Mortimer's contract; it's not like anyone could prove or disprove it either way.

The way to make things factual in this thread is just to have someone back up what u say with no evidence.

So mate i'll back up what u said which makes it true :)

Gold Coast were still in the comp in Melbourne's first year. I think you'll find they had first crack at the Mariners as well as South QLD Crushers and Western Reds players.

Oh and another problem with the pyramid system is i think it took 100's of years to build one.Its also out dated.Couldnt we find a system from china that works now for 2-3 years before it falls to pieces.I mean we will al be dead by the time the pyrmid is built

I love this analogy

Isn't Week 13 simply the cut-off date after which the player's current club no longer gets an automatic right to match any deal agreed by the player with another club?

I don't think it's anything to do with automatic rights, but rather, the NRL won't register any contract for the next year before then, meaning players can back out of any terms they have agreed to.

Players contracts don't span a financial year, so I don't think it would have any special relevance here (I could be wrong).

Yeah I don't know either mate, I was just throwing it out there. Round 13 is so close to the end of the financial year I wondered if people might have had mid-season mixed up with that significant date on the economic calendar.

Any tax implications for players / clubs would revolve around either the timing of payments or services rendered, not of contract initiation.

I'll take your word for it. If I knew everything I wouldn't f**king come here.

Well mate I knew there was a cut-off date for mid-season signings and a date for the start of registering NRL contracts. I just wanted clarification on when exactly it was because I had never seen anything official about it.

And I don't want to believe everything I read around here.

is a glowing sign of the fact that you are generally an ignorant f**kwit.

Yeah ok hero. Get into the easy target for your mouth-breathing cheer squad why don't you.

f**ken wannabe.
