This 1st half has been embarrassing, and embarrassing is probably being kind to the kiwis effort

Defence has been primary school level at best and ball control appalling

I know we are down on troops, but really that is no excuse for the defensive structure we are using. The 1 off test thing will probably come out as well but they aren't complete strangers and have been together a bot longer than normal

I honestly can't think of a match where I have been this ropable at the effort, that includes the Kemble era

They are out there in the black and white, no game is ever a trial in that shirt and is a weak excuse for the effort. Whatever they are trialing is obviously not working either

The side isnt going to change much for the tournament

shocking. The ref is crap too. Since when can you pass the ball off the ground in the tackle in league? Twice even. But regardless of the ref, this is a terrible performance by us so far. Doesn't do much for raising the profile of the international game either, quite the contrary.

Don't blame Kearney...he's not the one being sucked into defending the middle & leaving the edges WIDE open. I doubt very much that was the game plan they worked on during the week. Every player out there has played NRL & should know better. Whether they are good enough is another story. Aussies are playing with them

We have had more time than normal for this effort. And a lot of our side have played footy togther, especially in the forwards. Tonga and Uate on 1 side and Lawrence and Boyd on the other side haven't played together before either and had no issue geling, mind you there wasn't a lot in front of them

I probably shouldn't post at the moment because I am fuming over that effort, disgraceful

I think everybody knew that beforehand.
I would have picked George Carmont before I picked Brown at centre.

Who comes in at centre?
Glenn for mine - he was the kiwis best imo.

And Fuifui Moimoi and Fien shouldnt play again for the kiwis
Packer was rocks and diamonds but did alright in the end.

Why do people keep saying this is just a 1 off test etc, they are playing for their country FFS

If we have a 3 test series v Aus in the future do we just forfeit the 1st game ? We have had enough preparation for this match to rub that excuse out

Bloody normally suggests they are only having a run as a backup with the main guys coming back for the bigger games, what we had on the park today was what we will be running around in the 4 nations

Australia are saying goodbye to lockyer for the rest of the year so their motivation won't drop off if that was the suggestion

I can't share the optimism of winning the 4 Nations when we have no centers in the squad at all

Absolutely. That was shameful. Each to their own, but I can't be apathetic about rubbish performances from Kiwi sides, regardless of whether it's a one-off test or not. There used to be valid excuses for us being smashed by the Aussies, but not any more.

3rd string props, 3rd string centres, 5 rookies. Aussies had everything to play for. Yes it's a test match and there should be no excuses, but the Aussies had far more reason to find motivation whether we like it or not.

Don't expect a win this tournament. Do expect to see massive improvement though.
