Disillusioned with Rugby League

I watched NRL on FOX on Wednesday and was not at all impressed with Butterfield.

Small point, but NRL is made by Fox, part owners of the NRL. The commentators, Daley & Smith are both employed by Fox. Mortimer & Richardson are both club CEOs and bosses. There is no hope in hell that Butterfield was ever going to get a fair go in that environment. The major screaming about the Dally Ms has been done by News Ltd journos... Guess who their boss is? If you've ever had any contact with News, you'll know that apart from the Packer family, the Murdochs are globally known as "interventionist" media proprietors. If you don't do as you're told, explicitly or even implicitly, you don't work there for long. At all...

Some of these issues are reasonable and have been agreed to, however the way in which the rlpa is running things is bullshit. to hold the nrl to ransom is disgraceful...imagine if players in the club said we want x or we wont play - you'd call themj childish. instead of working it out reasonably by negotiating butterhead has just decided that threatening is the beteer option. And the loser? RUGBY LEAGUE. Now this game looks like its full of a pack of whingers whilst the AFL and yawnion are holding their awards nights.

For once I agree with Phil Gould on the points he raised in the post game show.

It isnt as though the conditions of playing in the nrl are akin to a slave labour camp or sweatshop. It's fair enough to ask for changes, but to DEMAND them is another thing altogether

Having over 35,000 at the game tonight makes me feel a bit better after such a bad week with the ground issues and the Dally M's being cancelled

Yes, it was a great advert for our game, No promotion, a team that had no chance of finals footy & still we draw 36,000 - bloody good...

The Broncos/Dragons game was AWESOME!!! One of the most exciting games this year!!

It's just a shame that it was in Round 26...the last game for the Dragons & possibly Brisbane.
