I like statues. They're cool.
But we don't seem to have enough of them. The derpy qlders have got it ok, with Beeston, wally and lockyer. Parra have one or two. Moore Park has Reg and DallyM.
But wouldn't it be cool if we had more? If ANZ is to become a hub of rugby league, wouldn't it be great if key players/moments get immortalised in statues outside the ground? We could have Provans/Summons embracing. Harris and Coote lifting up Big Artie after 1974 (or Artie and Changa embracing after 1975 GF - Changa's boots can be made of pearl) Joey (or Darren Albert) and the 1997 Grand Final Triumph. SBW bursting through weak Manly defence in last year's GF. Not sure if Gallen is ready for a statue yet.
And what about the Warriors? Nothing would show that they're staying at Mt Smart more than statues of Stacey and Pricey outside the ground.
They can become a bit like a holy site. A place for league fans to make a pilgrimage to so they can worship past legends.
