Totally agree. You can't judge a coach on results in his first season, whether he makes the grand final or runs third last.

But if he is judged on his first season results and the players give up then how can he be judged on his second season results? And with the players not having a go and losing games and the coach undermined by the board who have to pander to the fans, why would any better players want to come to the club? It's a vicious circle.
