I’m a f**kwit, no doubt. The fact I think Moses would make a decent captain, doesn’t make the concept invalid.
Can I ask what you think makes a good captain?
My criteria is:
- generally makes good decisions on and off the field
- is articulate (to talk to refs and the media)
- is smart on and off the field
- one of the best players on the team (no one is going to be led by a nuffy)
- they’re tough and put in effort consistently
- respected amongst their peers

and most importantly…

- can make tough calls, even if they’re unpopular (this may involve delivering some hard truths).

I actually don't think we have a standout captain in our current squad. I've suggested Mahoney but just because he can belt out the team song means shit. When we end up going with a new coach in season 2023 we should also be looking to recruit a new leader on the field.

I hope we go all out for Trent Robinson in 2023 seeing that it appears that BA will see out his contract.

In a football environment, considering the people they are “leading”, I would argue they do.
