...and whiney Parra fans.Brisbane is a great place to live, just a shame its full of QLDers.
Canberra isn’t that expensive imo. I reckon I’ll end up living there at some point.I can't afford kids because I live in Canberra!

Fair enough. It's getting better, but the last few years have been ridiculous tbh.
During that period it was ranked up there as one of the most expensive cities in Australia. All the shitty apartments and new suburbs they've put up have eased the population pressure a bit though, and the housing market on the whole is on the slide anyway while the APS is starting to grow again after being slashed by Abbott....
Still, if you want a good house for a family (with a yard and such, not the dogboxes in the new suburbs) you'd better have the ability to spend at least 700k, either on a house straight up or on reno/building work. Public transport is genuinely AIDS too, and utilities are quite expensive, so that doesn't help.
Great beer and wine though, so...
Fair enough.
I’ve only started looking at houses in the last 6 months just to get a feel for the market.
You get more for your money than you do in Brisbane at the price ranges we have been looking at.
Cost of food and drink when I have been there for work seems reasonable and in line with other cities.
Yeah. Need to do some research. It's a weird housing market, tbh. My missus' brother and his fiancee bought an old place in Farrer for 750k and need a new kitchen and bathroom, plus the yard has no grass. But then you can get stuff like this

Three minutes away
Or pay 500 odd grand for this

I've only linked Wanniassa cos that's where I am and we're toying with the idea of selling my place and buying something bigger between us, so I've been keeping an eye on it.
I have a brother and sister in Canberra ( Richardson and Stirling). I've spent some time there over the years but the place never grabbed me as a place to live. Not taking a dump in Bazal's backyard but I found the place to be sterile and didn't possess the character that I was used to. Each to their own though, my relos seem to like the place.
HOW f**kEN DARE YOU!!!
...is what 90% of native Canberrans would say to you, and then give you an hour long spiel about why you are wrong, before jumping in the car to go down the coast for the weekend and escaping Canberra lol.
It's not the worst place to live, but it's quite bland.
and just like that the Canberra housing market went into free fallCanberra isn’t that expensive imo. I reckon I’ll end up living there at some point.
Glad no one has mentioned the treasure that is The Gong.
Beautifull beaches, steelworks eyesore, thomas Dalton park, home of the dragqueens
we got it all
I hope those are their last names, because if it's their first names they would have to be working as butlers.I have a brother and sister in Canberra ( Richardson and Stirling)
