Nah....we'd still find a way to chokeI'd be pretty happy to make the GF every year, that'd be pretty great imo
we might even snag one here and there

Ricky Stuart
And that's the issue... do we take a step back?Bar the top 4 I wouldn't swap for anyone. Maybe Webster but he may be a one year wonder.
If we go a new direction id go with a rookie

A step back from a coach whose had 11 seasons and delivered Zero premierships?? Well, yeah, you can call it a step back, but it could end being a step forward. I think 11 seasons and no premierships is more than enough that we need to roll the dice/take a step back... However you want to phrase it...And that's the issue... do we take a step back?
I reckon Des would have us in the top 4 next year if we signed him.A step back from a coach whose had 11 seasons and delivered Zero premierships?? In hindy-sight, I think we were mad not to have gone for Hasler before the Titans pounced....
Agreed. And if he couldn't deliver after 2-3 seasons, you blow it all up and start again, and keep maybe only Drown and a couple of young'uns who are performing and getting better (eg Hopgood and Penisini)....I reckon Des would have us in the top 4 next year if we signed him.
Our side was perfect for him to polish up the final touches and go for one more tilt in the next few years with Moses and Drown signed up long term our premiership window should still be open for another 3 or 4 years with good coaching and continuing to have a solid forward pack.
I think Hasler is one of the best coaches in the game. That list is fair. Flanagan should be ranked higher and Webster/Walters/Payten haven't proved anything.A step back from a coach whose had 11 seasons and delivered Zero premierships?? There is a coach that would immediately take the job if offered to him and he isn't on the list. Won a NRL premiership and Super League titles. There is another who has has won a comp in the English Super League and I'd argue is as good as BA but not as stale. And that's the issue... do we take a step back?
Agree with everything you said but then as usual you shit the bed. Those men who haven't proven anything using your f**ked up logic are the SAME as Brad Arthur, actually worse because they haven't won a spoon. Go on, try and twist it.I think Hasler is one of the best coaches in the game. That list is fair. Flanagan should be ranked higher and Webster/Walters/Payten haven't proved anything.
Cue the number of games coached by Arthur's and winning percentage stat compared to Webster/Walters/Payten = Proven.....Agree with everything you said but then as usual you shit the bed. An experienced coach like Maguire, Dean Pay or Justin Holbrook bring their own assistants. They don't rely on unemployed school teachers like BA.The problem is we don't have any good assistant coaches or any in our Juniors coming through if we do bite the bullet and sack BA.
It would destabilise what we have been building in the juniors. (Unless you can get Bennett)
We aren't as smart as Penrith and have an abundance of good assistant coaches developing themselves as the players are coming through.
