There were already questions over Timmy's pea heart. This has only amplified any concerns. A pea heart club deserves a pea heart player. stay at the Tigers tim.

Why is it not clear to the Carney boosters that he will not change no matter where he signs. His behaviour over the last season has made it perfectly clear that he doesn't WANT to change and he doesn't think he has a problem. Maybe he doesn't have a drinking problem, maybe his problem is he becomes a complete f**kwit after 2 beers either way why would you want that distraction hanging over your season?

It's the club not you he'd piss on.

The club does a pretty good job of peeing all over itself. They didn't check to see if Moltzen had actually been released. I find that just about as embarrassing and unprofessional as anything else. Try get Carney before it is too late.

Well I can't argue that point as I've said to many a mate Doustie has some big mistakes in his game.

Try get Carney before it is too late.

The other thing to consider with this desire for Carney is the possible reaction of the clubs sponsors. The last thing in the world we need is for some of them to bail especially when we are ( according to news very ltd )short of a quid and with the pokie tax coming in. Also it's a free shot to the likes of Rothjerk and co

I always thought little Timmy was a bit of a pea heart, so f**k him.

I am warming to the idea of Carney. I see it as a "can't lose" situation.

We give the bloke his millionth chance, if he stuffs up, he's gone.

What could he possibly do so bad now, when he knows this could/would/should be his last chance?

I think Carney will end up a Snork btw.

No to Moltzen
No to Carney
Spend the cash on holding on to the talent we have coming through the juniors.
If you look at our current squad, which only won the comp 12 months ago, most of it is home grown.
That's where this club's strength is.
It didn't get where it is by signing pea-hearts and alcoholics.

I think we need to keep him for three reasons:

1. We need the depth he brings for 2012. If the first choice back line is K.Stanley, Nightingale, C.Stanley, Coops, BMoz, Soward and Hornby, we've only got Vidot as credible cover for injury in the three quarters and Fien for the halves. Without Moltzen, we're a couple of injuries and a rep weekend away from Bronx Goodwin, Reece Simmonds and Peter Cronin playing a scary amount of first grade. At the same time, we just don't have the good junior backs coming through. There's Evander Cummins and that's it.

2. If he stays at Wests Tigers, he targets a direct competitor for the 2012 season. Even if he sulked in reserve grade for the whole season (which I doubt he'd do) he makes it easier for us by weakening an opponent with equivalent ambitions.

3. As I've said in other posts, we're a bigger club than they are and we need to act in accordance with that relationship dynamic. They cannot get what they want at our expense. Clubs that win comps are big hitters politically as well as on the field and we have to flex our muscle over this. Doust needs to know that we are watching him and we expect him to act in the interests of the most powerful club in NSW.

Finally, let him whinge in the media. When the dust settles and he's made to commit to his contract with St George he will realise he has no choice but to play to the best of his ability. He will be in a competitive side that might not win in 2012, but has the foundation for at least one more premiership in the next 3 or 4 years.

Carney would be interesting on a one year incentive based contract but you wouldn't want to bank on him. He'd need to be worth 10-12 points though, because our back line defence with him, Soward and Stanle in key positions will leak an extra 6-8 points next year than we've been averaging for the past there years under Bennett.

I don't want him to stay if he doesn't want to be here, but the Tigers need to be punished somehow for fking with our backline depth for 2012.

Get Stuffed! Why would I want to pay to watch a player that doesn't want to be here, I mean even when he signed he didnt really want to come! The tigers need to have their head pulled in. What they have done is an absolute joke. I cant wait for the tables to turned and either a player or club does it to them.

He'll make a good depth player at Helensburgh. We need to get him on principle, but no chance in hell do I want him strolling into our first grade side after this debacle.

Tim is obviously emotionally attached to his current friends/players/club (id damn well hope he was), and frankly he is showing more "heart" by wanting to stay with the Tigers, than come to a club he has absolutely no affiliations with, and who he only signed because he was given no choice by his club.

Humphreys on the other hand needs to be put back in his place, as he should know better.

Anyway, I haven't voted on the poll because I have no idea if we have a Plan B (Carney or someone else) or a Plan C for player retention if we miss out. Nor do I know where our legal standing is, or where Tims head is at if he does come over, there are 2 many unknowns frankly, I just want to be told the outcome so we can get on with it.

The Tigers only want Moltzen because:
Benji made a fuss over the transfer.
Lui looks to be on his way out.
Now there is money at the Tigers to keep him.
Sheens was over ruled by senior players and officials.

We wanted him to add depth to our backline.

Carney is a better option.

Sounds like you have a life Rev!

I have nothing but gut instinct and stats but I really like the idea of Evander Cummins
Tigers need to pay however for their folly if Tim is to leave us and lay off the Tiny Tim guys, he's exactly my height and weight and I'm not exactly a runt (that's with an R btw)

Yah me too, but we do get a bit excited about youngsters on these forums, is he realistic for 2012? I dont think 2013+ is relevent, unless we need save some $$$ to lock up the kids contracts.

De Belin is another example of the younger generation, and I mean heaps of hype after his award, but to me when he played for us in 2011, he was just an average football player when thrust into 1st grade, probably 1-2yrs of development still needed before he is actually ready to assert himself in the top grade, I guess especially since he is a forward.

Totally agree with this. Way too easy to over hype young players. Merrin is even still got a long way to go and hes already played origin.

We need quality first graders with a bit of youth. Not the opposite.

I’m not disputing the media and to a lesser degree, fans propensity to over-hype young players but I think that De Belin and Merrin aren’t the best examples around. Given that they are forwards and Merrin in particular, a prop with a pretty simple and rigorous task list. Very few forwards enter the comp and are good from the getgo. Tariq Sims and our own much-beloved Lance Thompson, notable exceptions.

I’d liken Cummins to the potential of a young Barba, Cherry-Evans, Sandow, even Benji Marshall. If you look at his stats for the small part of 2011 that he played; the metres gained, the tackle breaks and try-assists, compared to his team-mates and peers; it’s not good, it’s pretty bloody phenomenal. Sure it’s an easier comp but the kid may well have that je ne sais quoi that we need in 2012.
