Here's how our round 1 opposition got on.
Wests Tigers 8 Parramatta 9
PARRAMATTA scrambled to a last gasp win over Wests Tigers in a National Rugby League trial at Campbelltown Stadium tonight.
Halfback Adam Dykes opened the scoring for the Eels in the 10th minute, touching down off a John Morris grubber and Luke Burt converted to put the visitors ahead 6-0.
The Tigers did not draw level until the 32nd minute, when sub John Wilson ran 60 metres to plant the ball beside the posts after a neat pass from Dene Halatau.
Former Eels fullback Brett Hodgson converted for 6-6.
Only minutes later, Burt appeared to be the victim of a tough call when he had a try disallowed.
But Morris eventually broke the deadlock, potting a 62nd minute field goal to put Parramatta ahead 7-6.
After the Tigers threatened with another goal, Burt showed his mettle to kick the Eels ahead 9-8 in the final minutes.
Both sides showed early season rust, especially in the first half.
They made such mistakes as throwing forward passes just as the line loomed.
On one occasion midway through the opening half, Tigers signing Scott Prince failed to find touch from a penalty.
The second half became a slugfest as both teams tried to gain the upper hand.
Tigers fullback Hodgson was a standout. Parramatta peppered him with bombs for the entire game but he was up to the task and didn't drop one.
The touch judges operated without flags for the game, which reportedly were lost.
