I have stopped dreaming of making the top 8 but this is what my dream has involved into....
1. We sign tahu/morrison
2. We play well for the rest of the season....some players really impressing ie. witt, cannings (when back).
3. season finished
4. smith fired
5. Para sign gould as coach (for the factor that this would mean no more charges and salary cap for us)
6. Lyon comes back in the off season
7. 2005 team looks something like this:
1. Mickinnon
2.Tahu
3.Lyon
4.Freshy
5.Grothe
6.Morris
7.Witt
8.Cannings
9.Riddell
10.Cayless
11.Morrison
12.Hindmarsh
13.Wagon

14.Widders
15.Tsoulos
16.Vella
17.Burt

We can all dream ;-)

Players like
Afasmanga, Mateo, Armit etc come in when injuries or poor form!!!!
Could have replaced burt with someone like that but i believe..if we have a team like that playing well burt could do wonders for us comin from the bench when fowards are tired (ala wing)
i know he is no wing but burt does have a good kicking game and can find a hole...very fast out of dummy half and a smart player just would try something different with him

IMO Afasamaga is a definate top 17 player. i agree Parra needs a impact player off the bench but i dont think Burt is the man.

Kacky has great potential as being a real impact player, his strength for his age has been non existent at out club since the great Nathan Hindmarsh.

Mr Parra Eels said:
we wont sign him, he will stay at newcastle

How do you figure that?

He's basically said that he'll be in Sydney next year on account of the miss's......we all know she wears the pants ;-)

It won't be Newcastle. Us or Manly. More likely Manly but things can change very quickly....money talks.

Tate never said he was house hunting in Sydney. Also tahu has come out and said he has no problem leaving Newcastle.

From Foxsports:

Newcastle winger Timana Tahu will hold further talks with Knights football manager Mark Sargent tomorrow after inspecting Parramatta's facilities today.

Tahu has significant offers on the table from the Eels and Manly.

"He won't be making a decision until the end of the week, when Michael Hagan comes back from Origin," Tahu's manager Darryl Mather said tonight.

Asked whether it was a foregone conclusion that Tahu would leave Newcastle, Mather said: "All I know is I am holding a meeting with Mark Sargent tomorrow.

"I wouldn't be meeting with Mark if that was the case."
