There is no way we will attract any top talent with the way we are playing and the adminatrators at our club.
But it's nice to dream.

Well how close were we to signing with tate and then boooyah he stays at home!

Tate was never given a chance to talk to us as he was signed after June 30. They would have worked him over in the backrooms at Red Hill and made sure he signed. Tallis would have held his arm, Webcke would have sat on him and Bennett would have moved the piece of paper.

Had we been given a chance to negotiate who knows what may have happened. He wasn't happy with the initial deal with Brisbane and if he had of stuck to his word as of June 30 it would have been more than interest shown.

He signed the other day for 2 years with Parramatta.

Though it hasn't been officially announced yet?

As eelavation pointed out....we usually announce post june 30 signings in a bundle. That means we must be at least half a chance of signing a couple of other players....so that Chads signing will be announced with......who else???

The only people who know enough to have an opinion on whether we'll sign Tahu or not are the club and Tahu himself. There's no point trying to hazard what he's thinking. Just wait for it.

This has been driving my nuts all morning and if I don't get it out my head will explode (Some might say that is a good thing, but I digress :p )

If Tahu decides to leave Newcastle, why the hell would he want to join Manly.
- Our current coach has coached 3 grand finals
- We have a forward who has survived to play all three origin matches this year
- We have 3 current internationals in the club
- We beat his current team twice
- We beat the other team he is thinking of joining twice, putting 50 past them on one occasion

Point is we are a hell of a lot better chance of playing in the 2005 GF than Manly is! So why the hell would you pick manly?

Manly has:
- the beach: he'd be used to being close to it up in Newcastle.

Parramatta has:
- the river: mmmmm, lovely :? ....has Chris Thorman figured out the geography of things yet?

1. Our coach is the most hated in the NRL, with no-one wanting to play for him
2. They just bought a forward who can do the same, and is good mates with Tahu after playing with him for 6 years.
3. Money talks
4. I don't think that matters
5. Same there. I don't think we'll win any points when it comes to performances and form.

And the #6 reason why he wouldn't want to come to Parra:

6. Our supporters are amongst the most fickle in the NRL - he'll be told he's crap and should be playing reserve grade every time drops the ball.

so he's above criticism berfore he gets here, is he ?

Hey, I criticise players myself - anyone can be criticised if it is waranted.

But I believe our supporters go a bit far alot of the time....AND I believe that unfortunately contributes to an poor aura for our club which can be destructive when trying to lure players to play for us.

No, I am not saying people cannot be criticised, but we bash our coach/players/admin too much and its not going to help attract players to our club if they have to endure a stream of insults if things aren't rosey.
