Does Brad Arthur deserve the hype?

Knew it from the start, said it all along that anyone but Stuart would improve this squad, and sure many red flags last year with his coaching. He could well be the modern hages as coach - great at finishing of the job, but not great at sustaining good performances.

I wanted either jt or Nathan brown as initial coaches, thought they would've been better hires

I think the players like him is a line given to the fans by the board to give them the impression that without arthur we dont get better players. Wrong, money talks in a salary cap. Anyway, being a coach is not about being liked same as a manager at a job. You are there to get a result. Arthur could be good but thats what everyone thought about kearney. The eels are perpetually in a time warp.

i think the whole Hayne thing and injuries have made it hard for BA to be successful this season. but when we had a full strength squad on the paddock under BA we have been successful.

Before Arthur's was hired I said we shoukd go after jt, and said I wasn't at all convinced with Arthur's - the Lu 'experts' thought I was crazy, but both jt and brown can coach.

I wouldn't be sacking him but some of his team selections are bewildering. He needs to get rid of Seph, put Watmough on the bench and choose 1 hooker.

It will RJ. I actually value your opinion mate I also wanted JT but am fine with Arthur now. Losing Junior Paulo and Semi was very damaging to us. Beau Scott will do wonders for us in 2016 because we are very soft in the middle. What we should do is try and get Scott now!!!!

I'm sure there were plenty on here who wanted JT. I was one of those. I don't know what his man-management skills are like, but his understanding of the game seems top notch. Reading just one article of his was enough to convince me. And the fact that he's been employed as the attacking brains for one of the most successful teams of the last few years is further evidence of his quality.

That said, I wasn't too unhappy to get Arthur. Players do seem to like him. Some of the selections though leave me baffled, but I'm just a whinging fan.

We beat Souths without them in the side, to me it is a cop out excuse.

We were very soft in the middle under Stuart, very, and it still hasn't been rectified. It is either a genetic thing, or we don't have the right coaches. All good cosches implement stronge trenches.
