Does Cleary leaving end our season?

Maybe I'm jumping the gun by 10 minutes, but I can't help but think we might be done. Instability at the top doesn't help anyone, and the past month has been the shakiest ground we have seen out of Mt. Smart in sometime.

Nah, Ukuma will soon be back to rectify the situation.

But yeah in the space of 4 weeks we've gone from top 4 contenders to hopefully making the 8... that's pitiful.

Our captain is in poor form, playing like a frustrated, confused goose... and the rest of the team is following suit. I actually wonder if Mannering is feeling the stress of all this Cleary business.
It was really bad timing to lose Tacklebot and Ukuma as well. Not to mention Lillyman and Maloney losing form dramatically.
Add to this the average return of Manu, musical chairs at hooker and centre with noone doing overly well.
We're also missing 50+ tackles a game and failing to score even when given multiple repeat sets.
Pretty much the only positive of the last 4 weeks have been Locke at fullback and Johnson showcasing his skills with the ball.

We need a HUGE turnaround in individual and team performance for us to make the finals this season. Come out after the bye in the same form, and we will finish 11th or 12th. F*ck it.

It depends on what you consider an end to our season.

We were never going to have a chance at the premiership so in that context our season ended well before the first game kick off.

If you're referring to the top 8 then I don't think it's ended at all. 2 points from the bye, and then two consecutive home games against the Titans and Dogs. If we can win those we're in with a shot. The Titans performance will reveal whether or not the mindset has changed.

That's the spirit - interesting thoughts. I felt we had as much of a chance as anyone for the premiership; I based that on the hope we would make the 8 with some form. Now, I will be surprised if we make the 8. Hope I'm wrong. I think we should cut Ivan loose now, and get on with rebuilding for next season. If he wants to polish Gould's knob, let him start now.

The situation has already quite clearly derailed our season - the four game losing streak and the penriff situation can't just be a coincidence...

As for the clubs public relations dept... How about treating the fans with alittle bit of respect.

Scurrah just stated that all internal recruitment for next season has been completed. Anyone who isn't already signed is gone too. Latimore, Moon (an obvious one)... who else?

Latimore, Moon, Seymour, Hohaia, Heremaia, don't think Poching is re-signed either unfortunately.

Pochings had a rough deal...
I agree. Poching was damn solid in the little chances he got last season and deserved a run this year ahead of Latimore, who is leaving anyway! So why didn't we give one of our own bred players a shot?

With him going it will not finish our season. At the end of the day its up to our players on the park, not the guy up in the box. As long as our guys have some passion and pride, this season is still on.
