Mannering needs to stand up and lead our team into the finals, regardless of all the uncertainty and probable dramas around the camp regarding coaching staff. It's his chance to shine.

This. Although I like job Simon has been doing for us, this is his time to take ownership of the team.

With him going it will not finish our season. At the end of the day its up to our players on the park, not the guy up in the box. As long as our guys have some passion and pride, this season is still on.

You don't think there is anything to be said for a stable front office, leads to performance on the park?

Well you have to look at what you're paid to do, not worry about off feild issues all the time. I agree with Hitman, this is where Mannering has to man up and take control of this team and lead them through this.

Nah I recon they'll still finish strong. It's not like Wayne Bennetts walking out so I don't think the players will be shattered, so it could actually have the opposite effect, they might want to win as a last hurrah.

Scurrah just stated that all internal recruitment for next season has been completed. Anyone who isn't already signed is gone too. Latimore, Moon (an obvious one)... who else?

And who directs the external recruitment from hereon in? It won't be Cleary..

I don't think this ends our season but I don't think it helps it one bit. Still uncertainty around who will be coach, now all the players that haven't been re-signed know they won't be, some of those less motivated players won't be going out to do it for Ivan (I can think of one in particular I'm expecting nothing of for the rest of the season) etc etc.

I reckon we finish 9th.

Hate the Panthers, hate Gould. Dog of a thing to go and screw our season by diverting the coach's vision from the plight of his clubs season. Hard to think that Cleary's dilly-dallying hasn't caused severe friction internally within this past month and that must have mentally caused concerns for the players. In that sense, very disappointed in Ivan Cleary as well. Its better to be upfront and honest and move on for all concerned, particularly the players and fans. I find it too coincidental that he's only decided in the past few days to move on. That sounds like a load of bollocks frankly. So you could say I'm extremely skeptical and strongly disappointed in Cleary. These past four weeks we've played shithouse, and his nonsense must have had some impact on that.

The club also needs to stop mucking around and move Cleary on and get a replacement in, so that the new coach has a chance to mould his squad and get players from the market he wants. Cleary isn't the man to be making those recruitment decisions, I guess Dean Bell is, but Dean Bell needs to understand the playing structure, culture that the new coach wants, which he can ultimately only get by a quick changeover.

Was Bluey coach of the Kiwis when Inu played at Fullback.
Maybe Bluey can motivate Inu- Inu has potential.

If Ricky Stuart is named our coach in 2012, I'm walkin'!

It would be a conga line, bud.

Ricky as coach, with a huge chunk of salary cap on $BW...and I'd be bringing my jerseys etc out for the national burning days:lol:

As for 2011...it's hard to say, could go easily either way. A dead duck coach for the year doesn't sit well with me, I'd rather he'd cleaned his desk out today and ****ed off
