Sonny bill back round 24, tonga round 25, patten 24, Cutler 25.

The outside backs are looking pretty thin.

If we ever get a full strength side back on the field it's not going to be in time to build momentum for the finals series.

Phelpsy and Lolly legs are going to have to step up to the plate and El Masri will have to weave some Magic from fullback.

doesn't looks to be much time for the backline to gel with only 2 games. The bulldogs would have to make the final to have a backline in momentum

They may make the finals but I think they'll still probably fall in the first or second week.

El Masri will have to be on his game tonight, because guaranteed we will fire him with bombs and have our massive pack ready to smash him, no easy task for an inexperienced fullback.

I think if Brissy win tonight the season is over for the dog's! If the dogs win they might get a little confidance but they would have to keep that form going for the rest of the season.

disagree.
the dogs, even when they lose tonight ;-) , will still be there at seasons end.
Next 2 weeks they have the rabbits and knights. Thats "4 points" right there...So that will take them to 25. Plus they have other winnable games coming up.
Dogs are not out of this comp whatsoever

Charlie you have a point, but the confidence factor is a major factor coming into the finals, and knocking off the best team in the comp will help that!!!

But i cant see that happening tonight!!!!!

4 points right there?
Would that be the same Souths that you drew with last outing, and who have won two on the trot? And the same Newcastle who now have Johns and Buderus back, and nearly won two in a row?
I sincerely hope the Dogs are taking them as lightly as you are!

Micky...for a start i am a broncos supporter (in case it wasnt so obvious) so dont say "you drew with the rabbits".
The dogs will take the knights and the rabbits next week and week after.
Laugh all you like

For the Bulldogs to win tonight one of the two teams will need to have a masive turn around in performance, Broncos don't look like playing poorly any time soon so that means the Dogs will need to perform at least twice as well as they did against Penrith. We'll be there for the semis regardless of tonight, but we need a big boost to make an impact in them.

kickback i hate to say it but if the Broncos lose tonight their season is over. There's no way they'll beat the dogs in the semis or grand final if they can't beat them tonight.

If the dogs do lose tonight it could well cost them a top 4 spot and I think they probably will lose one semi final and need that double chance as well.

I hear karmichael hunt might be out with a virus - you'll have an inexperienced full back for us to bomb and have our massive pack ready to smash him too :) Not that I know anything about the replacement ...

Really?
I seem to recall in 1994 that the Dogs were smashed by the Raiders 36-6 in Canberra. Then when they met in the semi the Dogs won 19-18 in extra time.
Sure the Raiders smashed the Dogs in the GF 2 weeks later, but that game was gone as soon as Bella knocked on.
Tonights game means ZIP either way...all it is is bragging rights.

Forgotten 2004 already? Wasn't the last time though, second last.

Brisbane's season is over if they lose?

Meh, Brisbane are safely in the finals.

Canterbury, as yet, are not.

Cheers.

Well of course my exaggerated statement falls well short of definite but it looks to me like the doggies are becoming a bogey side for Brisbane. Destroyed them two starts ago, then almost won with a premier league side .... if we win tonight with a side that's only just finding form with star players still finding their feet and a massive reshuffle in the backs you'd have to think that there's something in the Bulldogs style of play that the Broncos can't cope with.

Barring injuries or other catastrophies the Dogs are going to get much, much better whilst I seriously doubt there is much if any improvement left in the Broncos.

bogey side?
All the dogs wins over the broncos have to be taken in context.
Brisbane have improvement in them...but not too much i will say that.
Having said that, Brisbane are a cohesive unit and have familirarity with each other having had no many injuries.
The dogs have not had such a luxury and now they have to gel in the space of 5-6 weeks....not an easy task, but not something i will say is impossible.
Dogs are a threat...i am not going to hide from that fact, but Brisbane 2005 is nothing like Brisbane 2004.
