Dogs after The Chad?

I thought he was off-contract in 2022?

2021 is locked in and 2022 & 2023 are options in Chad's favour...his manager installed the player option so he can go to market, was done around the time of Ben Hunt's million dollar contract haha

As much as Townsend is disliked in here, a wooden spoon team like the Dogs could use him for sure... that team is brain fart upon brain fart on a foundation of uncertainty. Townsend and Green are slow as shit but if Barrett wants to set up a game plan and an attacking system those two can establish it and run it for a year or two.

Townsend was instrumental in making Flanno ball stick across the squad when he was brought to the club. He'd do the job for Barrett... Dogs only need halves to get them off the bottom of the table, and prep for a finals run in a couple years. Dumb as Barrett may be he knows they're not gonna achieve much for a while without injecting some tradesmen

As good as this outcome would be the real question is, does Chad want to go? The bloke is a Shark through and through and loves the club wether we like it or not.

Maybe if the 'powers that be' told him that he is 'surplus to requirements', and that Trindall (7), SJ (6) & Tracey (14) are the long-term plan, and he would be playing Jets in 2021/22, that might lessen the fervour...

I am sure as well if Chad goes we can sign another journeyman half to cover his role

"We're hearing." Isn't that a direct steal from Weilder's vocabulary by the Sloth?
I'm not hearing very well, so Sloth can get knotted.

Anyway don't think this "shoosh" event will happen.

But he goes like the clappers when he switches clubs, at least for a bit.
Would do him a world of good.

There’s a massive case of The Emperors New Clothes with Shat Townsend. They all love him.
Everyone bar the NSW & Australian selectors that is. Those selectors of course, are all wrong.

And the selectors that picked him for City (aka NSW reserves? Numpties, obviously...

Yeah because city country has actually been try outs for nsw for so long. You go good there and you're guaranteed a nsw jumper...

When has selection in anything ever been guaranteed from a one-off good game? Players have been picked over others on reputation for a hundred years. And rightly so in many instances.

They aren’t just going to ignore months and years of other games.

It is however recognition that the player is at least in contention/ consideration/ the conversation. It is acknowledgement that they are considered to be next in line at worst.

That’s what it’s for. It’s a chance to show what you can do at a higher level.

Come on. Just acknowledge the fact he’s had a pretty good career and he has been able to contribute something. It’s not that hard. Your bitterness is embarrassing.

You mean in 16 when he was in career best form and reynolds was chosen before him to partner his club team mate, with a few sharks in that team and combos might have help nsw.
Then game 3 reynolds is out and bird gets named but moved to the bench for moylan. Two players that weren't even halves were seen as better than him.

Hes has a decent enough career but was never a chance of representing nsw

My Fingers are definitely crossed.

There’s something going around that Fox Sports set up with the vocabulary stealing.
Notice how everything is “unbelievable” or “incredible”.
Started off with the female commentators and has gradually found its way into Mick Ennis and Cooper Cronks rundowns each week.
If you took a swig for every time a Fox commentator uses these words you’d be blind drunk every week.

Please, let’s not go through the city/county list of wooda, shooda cooda’s that never made Origin or Australia.
David Gower played a couple of years ago in a season when I don’t think he’d played 1 first grade game that year.... City/Country lost all respect as a ‘representative’ fixture a long long time ago.

Pretty sure Gower wasn’t ‘in the conversation’ for an Origin jersey.

Can’t see it happening but then again these be strange days indeed.
He would probally be a good fit at Belmore in a leadership role, if that is at all possible out there, that could be the only reason Barrett wants him.

Fingers crossed but he has a very close relationship with our coach and a golden child in the eyes of many within the club.
No off-field dramas, media-trained and a local junior.

Current contract is very in his favour and you'd be silly to not stay put. A club like ours doesn't attract many superstars which means he can bludge sideways around the field without someone breathing down his neck.

All I know is SJ looks and plays perfect in that #7 jumper. I'd never even think about letting someone else wear it.
