It will be a 14 team comp next season. Kevin Walters and Trent Barrett are NOT what I would consider to be quality NRL Head Coaches.

Kevvie thinks bringing the “Old Boys” back into the Club and changing the culture is going to fix everything. They will miss the Top 8 next season - no doubts.

Barrett is far too emotional and at best is a good Assistant Coach. If he couldn’t handle Manly, there is absolutely no way he will handle the off field issues with Canterbury.

I do however expect improvement from St George with Griffin, Gentle and Matt Elliott next season.

Having thought long and hard about our own Club, I have decided that I would like John Morris to remain as Head Coach.

He is loved by the media, is a clean skin and promotes an incredibly positive image of the Club. Notice how the continual negative stories are gone?

Clearly the players love him and it appears it is a happy Club.

We play an attractive brand of footy and can score points which is great.

He just needs specialised Assistant Coaches around him. Honestly, I would love to see a team of John Morris (Head Coach) Dean Pay (Defensive/ Forwards Coach) don’t laugh but I think Paul McGregor (Attack/Backs Coach) would be an excellent addition as well.

I think this would be an outstanding Coaching Team. Pay and McGregor would be seriously motivated to succeed so they can rebuild their NRL Coaching profiles and credibility.

He got us to the finals two years running, albeit limping, dealt with plenty of Flannos baggage and as put previously is a dead set clean skin choir boy.
Is that the way forward? For me yes, but can understand why others fear it. They are light years away from top 4 but it’s a work in progress.
In contrast to some of the crap that’s been dished up post the Lang era, Id take this time over that any day. I think you have to STILL be realistic in what we might be up against next year - potential lean year but leading to better things

what were your thoughts of Flanno after two seasons?
Can’t really remember, but he certainly came good before the spectacular exit.

I hope I’m wrong, I’m not death riding the bloke ...but I just have a feeling Morris won’t crack it. The club hasn’t been particularly vocal in support and Morris has come across to me as a bit defensive at times. Maybe they don’t gel.

If we’re leaking points the same way 10 rounds in next year there’s no way he’s resigned. Needs to get this right.

When has McGregor ever shown he can coach anything?

Great question! I believe he did have success and won a comp as Illawarra Coach.

Please let me make this point, Steve Price was a dismal failure as St George Illawarra’s Head Coach, but he was an integral part of our 2016 Premiership campaign.

I believe that McGregor can offer the same value as an Assistant Coach.

Don’t under estimate the value of NRL Head Coaching experience, something that both Dean Pay and Paul McGregor can bring in to assist John Morris.

Steve Price was an exceptional defensive coach. McGregor is not exceptional at anything except losing. And he had no success at anything. Sorry.

Fair point but wasn't Price assistant when Dragons won in 2010?
