"Doom" wasn't good...But it's one of those crap films that's good because it has some good aspects to it, such as The Rock, and the way it's filmed in certain parts.

Doom was diabolical. Where were all the awesome aliens you faced in the computer game? All we saw were a few zombies and some sort of blob creature as the main foe. And that ofcourse was after 40 odd minutes of boring dribble. Also, the script was one of the worst ever...matched only by, ironically, AvP. And with the sh!t script and crap storyline, the Rock (the movies main drawcard) had nothing to work with. What a stupid idea to make his character a dislikeable w@nker who you wanted to die in the end.

No doubt though that AvP was the biggest disappointment. Aliens and Predator are two of the best movies ive ever seen. So much to live up to and with a nobody director, some nuffy actors and a sh!t storyline it was always going to disappoint. As expected, its only salvage points were some of the scenes involving the real stars (the Aliens and Predators).

I actually enjoyed both films, but then like others I wasn't expecting award winning story lines. It's not like any of the others in the Alien and Predator series had spectacular story lines. The only thing lacking was more action really, and that was more so in the Doom movie early on.

I enjoyed "Doom", but mainly because The Rock was in it and he just oozes charisma.

Srill - unlike "The Cave", I didn't feel it was a COMPLETE waste of my money.

I liked AVP, at first while watching it i thought it was going to be just like the original Alien or Predator where there is a group of people who get picked off one by one until the last person remaining has a showdown with the monster. Something we've seen before...

It did start that way but what really surprised me was halfway thru the movie it turns in a Lethal Weapon buddy/team up type of movie where the last human & last predator join forces to fight the aliens. I really did not expect that.

Other apects of AVP i enjoyed were the backstory of the pyramid how they've been doing the rites of passage for years and how the Bishop character gives it a stronger link to the original franchise.

Worst film of 2005 would be The Incredibles from Disney/Pixar. Not because it is so bad but because it was so overhyped with commercials & making of specials, etc that by the time I saw it in the cinema it was like I had already seen it. Plus it was one of those forget it half an hour after you see it type of flicks.

All I'm hearing is the Cave the cave the cave..

This is my experience of the cave.

I had just been at a job interview in the city, which i got so was feeling pretty pleased with myself. having several hours to kill until i met my girlfriend i went into george st cinemas.

Feeling like a bit of a horror film i signed up to the cave.

i got a horror film.

After the usual promos and crap I'm happily munching popcorn to the opening sequence.

Then the following words came on the screen:

"Underwater sequence photography by..."

i thought to myself "uh oh. A horror movie underwater. What have i got myself into.

as the first overexposed image came to the screen and the exceedingly loose premise for the film was set up (i still to this day dont know why they had to go into a cave when they had a perfectly good medival church full of artifiacts to explore) i knew i had wasted money.

The worst part was i didnt have my concession card on me that day and had to pay full price.

What a f**king stinker of a movie.

f**k its dirty director in the arse.

'The descent' is a much better film, they are based on similar premises.

the cave licked taint!

if you want to see a real stinker, see Pterodactyl with Coolio and Cameron Daddo!
I don't know how they managed to f**k it up so badly considering the fine casting!
