Dumped Brett Finch to stay in NRL

BRETT Finch could be playing with another NRL club within a fortnight after seeking a shock release from Parramatta last night.
Contrary to reports elsewhere, the livewire halfback will not accept a lucrative deal with a UK Super League club and hopes to play the rest of the season with another club in Australia.

While the Eels have not confirmed to Finch’s management that they will release him, it is understood Penrith and St George are already circling for his signature.

The Daily Telegraph has also been told a fallout with coach Daniel Anderson is at the root of Finch’s stunning decision to want a release.

It is believed that the final staw came when Finch was switched to hooker with 20 minutes to go in the Eels game against the Roosters last Friday night. Finch reportedly blew up on the field when he was give the orders.

I wouldn't mind seeing him here as long he wasn't ridiculously expensive but Penrith would have to be the favourites IMO.

Finch is a decent footballer. Showed some good form last year, carrying the Eels at times. Given a choice between Finch and Head pre-09 I would consider Finch a better fit for our team every time... but... considering Head is already here, has done the whole bonding off-season with the team, some hard yards out in the wilderness for Shellharbour and a full 80 mins on the bench, I kinda got a soft spot for him and would prefer him to remain as our number one back-up half.

While I think Finch isn't as bad a footballer as people make out, going on his 4th club in his career should be hint enough.

We had him all but signed a while back but he went with the Politis Paper Bag. So f*ck him.
