Dragons coming back to realty?

There were whispers at the start of the season that Dragons had an easier schedule and were jumping on teams that were not at their best. It could be argued that now that these predictions are coming true, Dragons on sixth on the ladder and had a less then impressive win against the Knights. Dragons are suddenly looking like a team that a vulnerable, a big change from where they were earlier in the season.
Don't you hate it when you wake up the next day to a reality check.

Karma is a merkin of a thing

Did Widdop give Mann a fair go, I might've been half pissed in a men's shed but it looked to me like Mann was left out in the cold

Mann is another storm graduate that has failed elsewhere. That list is longer than ex storm success stories

I think they got a bit too trigger happy when they started winning and rushed to re-sign Widdop and Mary, ever since then they've definitely tapered off.

I'm surprised there isn't a thread in the cave dedicated to the Saints shitness post Bennett....

**Edit** contracts are signed so the job is done...congrats Dousty, Mary, Widdop and co. Let's wait til contracts are up again until we see any good footy from St George. I feel sorry for the hard working plodders like Ah Mau because of the shitness from our so called "stars".

Let's have a look at your list . . . see if it matches mine

We've played this game before. Last time you counted players that maintained the same level of success, like Folau and Turner.

White, Blair, Nielsen, Widdop, Mann have declined. I'll keep an eye out on Proctor.

That's only half my list ol' mate, Bell, Tagatese, Johnson, Hoffman, Inglis, Tolman, Maloney, Kostjasyn, Hampton, Green have made a good living. Mann and Blair are probably the equal of anyone in their team . . . not that Melbourne missed any of them because Bellamy can always build more

There is no argument the majority of average players play above average in the Storm team.

There is also no argument that the majority of those who leave Storm go to shit.

For a Storm fan that doesn't matter and works well for them. For a Bellamy fan boy it doesn't say much in the way of actually developing players into better players overall. Nothing against Bellamy/Storm's ability to identify a bloke's strengths and use it to the fullest outside legends but I could probably bag a double on the wing for Melbourne and not even make grade for any other side.

Maloney kostajyn Inglis tolman have got better.
Maloney is better because he's dirty he wasn't given a real chance, Kostjasyn always a journeyman, Inglis left his best in Melbourne and Tolman has never been any different

Okay so apart from Maloney - and those that have plateaued - the rest have gone to shite.

So what you and AJB1102 are espousing is that Bellamy once having either grown or reconditioned players to greatness inexplicably lets them go at the top of their game, no signs whatsoever they are reaching his level of use-by date

Then these players are going to coaches, the equal of Bellamy and his strict regime, and fail . . . nothing to do with the shit coaches they encounter and the obvious lack of structure they need to shine nor the fact they were beginning to show signs not to Bellamy's liking

We'll forget the super great players like Inglis, Folau, Bell, etc who left because of money and were taught to coach themselves and players like Tolman, Blair and O'Neill who are starters in high profile teams

Yes, I believe that the Steven Bell that played 107 games for Melbourne and 65 for Manly including the '08 grand final and scored the winning try to win the '07 Origin series for Qld was a great player

and if you think Tolman is not one of the best long minute forwards in the game still today you really need to consider the Netball forum
