 Well it got your interest sunshine. Can't believe anyone cares.
lol. The Shire is strong in this one.carcharias said:They may as well trial a few women refs ... That's how important this non event is.
The Dragons are happy with flexibility such as signing players on backended contracts and having them retire early but not for allowing two NYC players to play in a match that literally means nothing.
Panthers are no longer allowed to play Matt Moylan because Lachlan Coote has returned from injury... nevermind the fact he missed 20 weeks of the NRL and was viewed as our 5/8 for this season. We have to play a bloke who is nowhere near match fit in a position where we didn't want him to be used this season.tigers injury list:
Robbie Farah (hand), Rd 25
Eddy Pettybourne (ankle). rd 25
Blake Ayshford (eye), season
Aaron Woods (knee), season
Chris Lawrence (ankle), season
Joel Reddy (groin), season
Tim Moltzen (knee), season
Marika Koroibete (cheekbone), season
Matt Utai (jaw), season
9 out of the top 25.
everyone cried for the rules to change when moylan was held back and the nrl is showing some discretion and letting some young blokes have a run..... its the right decision and the nrl should be changing the rules to be more flexible for next season...
anyone crying about this is a nit picking whinger. we want to see young talented players in the top grade... there should be an exemption for any under 20's who are good enough to play nrl.. nsw cup/qld cup players obviously slightly different - but again, there needs to be more flexibility.

You do realise that Gasnier is still actually being paid the balance of his contract and coming under our salary cap?
In any case it's irrelevant. I don't support the 'protest', we're just too shit this year and trying to do anything to secure a win obviously.
The second tier cap should be scrapped. You have a top 25, and anyone below that can earn a maximum amount of X dollars, if they're used so be it. I don't understand why the NRL wants to restrict the blooding of new talent. If they're good enough to replace guys in the top 25, that's fine, their pay is still less than them until they're shifted into the top 25.
I have a problem with some clubs being allowed concessions and not others. You either allow every club, or not at all. You can't pick and choose every time the issue comes up.
And none of this 'only because they're playing another team not in contention for the finals'. It shouldn't matter where the team they are playing is placed, and at what stage of the season it is, the rule should be the same and not changed week to week.
Just goes to show what a mess the current cap is in, it's not like this doesn't happen every year and there is no precedence set for change being required.
The Tigpies are certainly not the first club to be in this situation, and they won't be the last, unless the NRL completely overhaul the cap structure. With luck the review that is being mooted will correct such glaringly obvious problems.
As for the Shoe, I have no idea how this bloke has survived so long. His inability to apply the rules with consistency is simply mind boggling. This being just another example in a litany of cluster f**ked "rulings".

If he retired why is he still getting paid?
Its not like he was injured and couldn't play again during his contract length.
I find that very hard to believe that it is still part of the cap.
Wouldn't him walking away just void the contract.
