Dragons fans reject Reebok jersey

On the Jubilee Ave forum there was a discussion about the "quality" of design and manafacture of our 2010 jerseys.

He then started a thread with his designs, and it took him 10 minutes to complete.

To say they are much, much better than the crap served up to us by Reebok and the club is an understatement. A few of us have since emailed the club voicing our concern, may i suggest you consider doing the same. If you feel inclined to email them, here are the email addresses;
[email protected] - General Email

[email protected] - Merchandise & Memorabilia officer.

[email protected] - We all know who he is.

& the thread in JA
http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?t=351843

here are his designs, top work Goodpart.

Images reproduced with goodparts permission.

Posted these in the alternate jersey thread but I figured the positive response warranted a proper thread.

The bottom heritage jersey needs to have the thin red lines ontop as well not just on the bottom.

Sorry major, added the last one. that would mean you are referring to the 2nd last jersey.

Huge fan of jersey 1. Also quite like number 3 and 4

But I'm withholding my rage towards the Reebok ones until I've seen it in the flesh. By all reports it is awful... but I'm a "gotta see it for myself" kinda guy

Fair enough. I am as well. I was hugely disappointed, as you can probably tell.

Agreed. While I do not doubt those who have checked them out, I want to have a look myself before I pass judgment.

I was in Mick Simmons (since Forever) and I had both the home and the red away jersey in my hand at once.
I want to buy one as I haven't had a new one since the first year of adidas.
I must say the quality was a bit off. I was disappointed.
The neck did it for me and the way the Reebok logo goes across onto the Red V is tacky.
They could of used the Reebok symbol - we still know its Reebok
If they win the comp I'll buy one. Until then I'll wait.

I have too much stuff with St. George Bank on it.
As for the examples...
Great design work.. 1 and 2. I also like the ghost Saints logo on the back.

these are some very well designed jerseys especially the 1st one,but the club won't change them this close to the season kicking off and you will never get that est 1921 under the emblem cause the illawarra faction will blow up about it,we have the best looking football jumper in the world with the big red v but the club just continues to get it made and supplied by sh*t manufacturers and in saying that when i heard reebok was coming on board i thought our gear would look the best in the comp, addidas were ok but at the end of the day anything with addidas or reebok written on it is too expensive,i see other clubs have the brand isc and their gear seems reasonably priced, obviously it's all about the dollar, where's westmont or classic when you need them.

So they had the new away jersey there?

Yes Dragon Dave...
It does look better than that low res jpeg picture from weeks ago
But still it wasn't enough for me to part with $155 a pop.
The Red V jersey's my gripe

Well the club must agree that they're not going to sell any of the away jerseys.

1. They haven't even announced the fact that we do have anew jersey and
2. They arn't for sale through the club anyway.

the sad thing is nothing will happen about the jerseys

if you make enough noise, don't be surprised what can happen...

clubs are businesses, and merchandise is both a form of revenue stream, as well as advertising for their 'brand'.

if there is a significant threat to either revenue, brand or both, then they can make changes.. eg if enough fans refuse to buy new jerseys, then they have suffered financially, as well as not being able to meet any sufficient branding commitments made to a sponsor..

case in point where this has worked:

http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/1101797/Backlash-kills-off-iSnack-2.0

that being said, the only drama is that there is most likely a sh*teload of jerseys sitting in a warehouse somewhere (china??) that have already been produced... but.. if there is enough noise to show that this stock will not be moved, and there would be sufficient demand for any new production, then this can be a reality....

c'mon MX.. daily telegraph.. smh... there is a decent story here for you guys.........................

I doubt we will get things changed for this year, but what about the original R2K, and then the subsequent uproar over ANZ? Us fans do have power. If make noise now, next years jerseys may be of better quality, they may introduce a fantastic traditional style ANZAC jersey, etc etc. Make some noise!

Pete

Take 2 min to email the club and let them know what you think.
