I wouldn't be getting too excited about this. I doubt whether we will see any stars in action on that day. Really just friends players trying to impress for the charity Shield game.
The player appearances gives that away.

If they are playing 3 grades I suspect that a very healthy contingent of the top 30 will in fact play albeit maybe not long minutes
Just hope that the likes of Maranta & Runciman are in ISP and not part of an extended 1sts squad

Hopefully this day gives fans their first glimpse of Silverman in action..

Is there a minimum age requirement for Jersey Flegg?

Finally..they announce it!. Another worlds worst kept secret.
DS....Why do you say that? I think we should and will see our stars albeit short stints.

And for OT..dont get too fired up about who plays where for what grade
It is only trials and a bit of mix and match wont matter and the old fox Mary wont want to show his hand.
And for your benefit again Runciman cant play 1st's..he only has a ISP contract anyway.
Maranta..who cares if he has a bit of a run in 1sts on this day. He might surprise us all.

Would love to see the following tried out

1. Aitken given some time at left centre
2. Pearson (L) and Ravalawa (R) wings for some of the game
3. Field at 6 for part of the game and actually given the ball
4. Robson start at 9 with Lovodua on the bench .. Give them some time at 9 and also Robson some time at 13 and Lovodua time on the edge.

Use it as a genuine trial for positions in the shield and round 1 and not just a warm up dust the cobwebs out.

I don't think we will see the likes of Hunt, Widdop, Norman, Graham and a few others, just my opinion, there's always a chance of injuries in these hit and giggle games.

Remember there are players signed to the ISP on part-time contracts (about 12 or 13), that also need to impress Head for ant starting spots in his team. I don't recall the ISP boys scheduling any other trials, as far as I know.

That's why I think some fringe 1st graders and will get a shot in this trial to impress or show something in order to push for charity shield selection.

You may be right but 3 games with extended benches. Everyone has the opportunity to have a go in this one. ISP players and fringies will have another trial at the same time of the Charity Shield but not in Mudgee.
Dont expect any announcement too soon about ISP games until the 11th hour as the NRL and NSWRL dont see reserve grade as important enough. Apparently club supporters dont either

Thanks VV and GD. Do you mind telling me where do you get the Souths confirmation. (through their website?)
I heard about the Souths trial but saw nothing official...but knew nothing about the Dogs one.? I want & need to be at all 3 and will need location & timetables etc when available.
I have not seen it of course through engagement with our club or through the NSWRL..but I may have missed those emails.
Our club is so behind others it is mind boggling

I can see a lot of players being 'rested' or playing like 20 minutes. Seems like more of an opportunity for the fringe Flegg players and ISP players to play. Obviously fringe first graders have a chance to impress as well but I doubt much will be read into those performances.

NRL had an article on Nov 9 with all the confirmed dates, but they've since updated it and omitted all the ISP trials and just left 1st grade trials on there. But someone posted the full article on reddit.

Trials are arranged by the clubs and not the NRL so I think they can pick anyone on the books age dependant of course.
I think we still have a vacancy in the roster so they could easily argue they want a few guys to play in 1sts to trial for that position
Thus why they are called a trial.
Anyway let’s wait and see what happens.

I'm sure fans of the teams coached by Harry Bath would object loudly with your description of Mary as an old fox. A huge insult!
