Yeah it makes sense when you add Bennett era to Mary's team jumping the gun for a couple seasons but still surprising given teams like Roosters and Souths have been consistent over that time.

I wish we could say it shows how little there is between the top and the bottom echelons of teams but sadly, too often when we've been at the top it has felt fragile and the slide inevitable. If our defence is in order this year I feel we will see our attack work its way towards some very good seasons ahead.

Yes, it's a shock.

I would presume the club has the same information and I don't know if it's being to harsh as there are so many variables.

Even the weather may make a difference, play on a night and it pisses down then the next day it's sunny and dry.

I'm not surprised by the stat. We did spend a lot of time in first with Bennet, and we were a feature at first for several years under mcf#$%nuckle, at least up until May.

A more damning statistic, especially in the last 10 years, would be the percentage of wins against each side. This will show an extremely poor record against the top sides (storm, rorters, souffs, the riff), and also a poor record against teams like the raiders, and probably against the dogs and the tigpies. I could look it up, but that sounds like work.

A recent stat by the NRL has averaged out each clubs most frequent ladder position over the past 15 years. The Dragons most frequent position?? 1st!!
2nd only to the Melb Storm .. more than 65 weeks spent at top spot …is this an unbelievable stat or what …..image attached ..
It was a sharp footy team the first half of those years. Not so much since.
