Gutherson or Cook its nice to have some options for a change

Personally I believe that it would be better for Gutherson to settle into his new team . However with Cook , he would slide in the captaincy role as a hot knife into butter.

Still as you have said Harry - it is indeed nice to have options , more so when only the little whiner was ever considered for the role .

Not only will Cook or Gutho be good capt's, the juniors coming through will learn what a good captain is all about. Our previous guy was definitely no role model when it comes to being a capt. Probably go down as the worst ever for this proud club.

For mine a fullback is always a good choice as he can get a full perspective on how his teams shape is looking both in defence and attack.....

Cook is a good option and Sua should definitely be part of any leadership group but it's Gutho for mine. Plays 80 every week, plenty of captaincy experience and he's already acting like a leader. If you're a young bloke coming through the ranks it's got to be good to know that Gutho will be around for a chat, something it seems his predecessor never was.

The reality is that we have no input into the role of Captain so I'm treating this thread as a poll.

I vote Gutherson, purely due to his immediate positive impact once signed.

Although perhaps not the captain , it is good to see that he recognises the fact that he is to be a key player in the team by taking on further responsibilities .

That in turn shows that he , Sua will remain a happy Dragon in the foreseeable future .

I notice in an article recently how Flanno has stated that in his club rebuild he was looking at leadership as that is what has been lacking lately hence why they brought in Gutho/Cookie. If that is no stab at Hunt then what is. I totally agree though. They have really lacked leadership. He also states that these guys will help the juniors. Another good point. Saints had a great SG ball team in 2019 and between Mary/Hunt/Hook they really botched it up. There were some great kids coming through and they were treated poorly. The more I hear from Flanno about the future the more excited you get.

I have a feeling Flanno will appoint co-capt's being Gutho and Cook. Gutho to look after the backs and Cookie the forwards. Both very capable. Su'a maybe next in line if one gets injured.
