Yep agree, but I suppose he is between a rock and a hard place, still he could of come up with a better response than that, that would have covered all the political bases.

He is a director of the St George Leagues Club & St George Footy Club, as well as his more publicised role with St George Illawarra. Remember the Leagues Club supples the Directors for the Footy Club, which supplies half the board for the JV. He is not however, CEO or GM of either the Leagues or Footy Clubs.

His Dad was a Director for years and, I was told, appointed a Director at the Illawarra Steelers for a while in their early years, as well as being on the NSWRL.

I think all that is pretty close to right.

Just on Bruce Gordon, and those wondering why he doesn't get involved...

It is my opinion (and opinion only) that he does when needed, it's just we don't hear of it. After all, he did pay off Illawarra's debt to St. George.

I also believe he is a bit eccentric (nothing wrong with that though). He is a former vaudeville performer, who turned his small media interests into an empire. I think he lives in Bermuda or the Caribbean these days.

He is also the reason country NSW gets live Dragons games on a Friday night (I think).

One downside is I believe he is getting on in age, so may not be with us for much longer unfortunately.

[Note: I don't have any sources for these statements sorry, this is just a post I've put together from bits and pieces of information I got over time. A Google search may confirm or shed more light on him].

Anyways, he gets a big thumbs up in my books. It's good to have someone like this in our corner, who also appears to genuinely have a love for the club (Like Rusty, but unlike Tinkler).

Haha I like your style Bellyache. Johnny Lewis is a hardcore Newtown fan, I don't know if he has Rusty's type of coin though. What's Warren Ryan doing these days, maybe he's made some smart investments. I'd love to see Newtown back in the comp.

Price is a good man, he's under pressure I feel sorry for him, nobody likes having their fate in another persons hands.
