Take this however you like but my source (sponsor) tells me Bruce Gordon WIN (billionaire and 25% owner) of the football club is starting to enter into all of this, it's a personal thing he has against News Ltd....he wants Bellamy at St George Illawarra and will assist in pulling all stops to get him to the Dragons.
Pump another million bucks on top of our offer might tweek it our way.

How come this guy doesn't get involved more publicly?

Surely someone with his stature and success will help attract better players and coaches etc if they know he is involved?

I keep hearing this bloke is very passionate about the Dragons..

yeah my thoughts as well... why hasnt helped the Steelers leagues club with their debt problems, instead of the Stgeorge leagues club stretching themselves too thin to cover it?
if he is that rich and passionate you would think he would be assisting more... 3rd party player deals etc etc...

Good question regarding the Steelers..

I'm guessing he would look at it from a business point of view and decide it's not a good investment or something.

But FMD GET INVOLVED BRUCEY!!!!!

Sorry, but I have to laugh at threads of this nature.

After 1000+ posts, what we know is.........................

Absolutely nothing.

I've always wondered this myself, however his 20 or 25% he tipped in I guess was to help already.

But yeah he is definitely in the background of it all.

I believe Jenninga did receive this information and others have heard something similar however, unless Masters comes out and confirms he was told this or Bellamy/Doust makes the annouoncement, we will never know.

The bit about Doust is interesting however, first he would have to win the confidence of the board and I imagine members. Maybe a member of the board would be appropriate. Move him out without losing face.
Possm, Doust has been on the Board for years.

He has helped them out, in a way. He gave them the $6m to pay off their loan to Saints Leagues, in return he took half their JV ownership. Later when they were in more strife after the fire, he (I believe) bought the Leagues Club property which he leases back to the Steelers.

Re him helping in funding a bid for Bellamy... I was told he already is part funding the current offer ; as he did with the bid to re-sign Bennett - remember we werent beaten on $$$.

Managing Directors are common place. Most major companies would
Have their CEO on the board. Some (such as NAB) have more than one executive.

Ben Creagh has come out in support of Steve Price saying we should re-sign him and that Price has the 100% support of the playing group. He says that this has been the hardest ever preseason and pretty much says Price is the man, very encouraging for our chin-less.

What else is he going to say if asked a direct question? I wouldn't be reading too much into this...

Gee this guy keeps very low key even the media doesn't talk much about him.

cause he owns the most powerful media connection in the world...controls whats said i suppose.

Mr Gordon said his WIN Corporation was currently "the biggest operator of channels" in Australia, with about 100 channels nationally, comprising a total of four channels (including digital multichannels) in 25 regions across the country.

Oh Dear Ben, some Captains are remembered in not quite the fashion that they would want. You have made a significant stroll down that pathway, Please no more clangers like that.
