I'm not against signing a good Front Rower.

But to pay 400k for him?

No deal with the Salary Cap. We're over enough as it is.

I'd take Ptrol in a second. Props are good untill 33 or 34 years of age & the best thing is that he's very duarable.

Been a main stay of rep packs for years & has dominated the Blues front row in Origin this year. I would take that as an indication that he is still better in his position than most others.

dude,
fair point regarding the salary cap, but id be more than happy seeing PC who is no where near as injury prone as other players running in our team. Look at his stats, game in game out. He runs more metres than most and tackles more than most.. He is in the top 3 forwards in the game without a doubt.

Everyones got there own opinion, but in my eyes the Dragons lost BIG time when Bailey left. And quite frankly Ryles hasn't stood up. I'm not bagging Ryles, because he's not the only player at fault, but im a certain believer that PC can play a more stabilising leadership role in our forward pack. Who knows, maybe if we have PC, Ryles can stand up more like he used to when the Bull was mauling our opposition every week.

Peter who? lol.

By the time Ryles up his mind about staying or not P.C will already have signed elseware unless he wants to play for us , and who wants to go to the wooden spoon favourites ?

Can't imagine we will be able to afford him unless we can unload Ross. He's on 400k a year for us though, so I doubt anyone else is going to pick up his tab.

Gorden Tallis says he's struggling to understand how his former NRL club Brisbane can't find the money to keep champion prop Petero Civoniceva under the salary cap.

Writing in his weekly Brisbane newspaper column, Tallis says with several top-line players leaving at the end of the season he would have thought the Broncos could find the extra cash for one of their greatest players.

Tallis says unless the Broncos paid new Penrith recruits Peter Wallace and Joel Clinton ridiculous amounts there should be enough money under the cap to reward Civoniceva for playing for the club for 13 years on less money they he could have made elsewhere.

In support, Gold Coast co-captain Luke Bailey has labelled Brisbane's decision to terminate negotiations with veteran prop Petero Civoniceva as disgusting.

And Bailey has offered to take a pay cut to help the lure his fellow Test forward to the Titans.

Bailey says he can't understand why the Broncos have recruited Penrith's Joel Clinton while Civoniceva remains the best prop in the NRL.

Brisbane withdrew a three-year, $900,000 offer to Civoniceva last week and the 31-year-old Test forward is weighing up his options. Civoniceva hopes to make a decision on his playing future by the end of the week.

Stewart moved to Manly from Wollongong five years ago with older brother Glenn in a package deal.

St George Illawarra missed out on the now NSW fullback because they wouldn't sign his second row brother and now the Stewarts are part of the foundation Manly will build around after Glenn signed an extension earlier this season.

"We moved up five years ago and the club's been good to us so it'd be good to return the favour I suppose," said Brett Stewart.

Watmough, a Narrabeen junior, said he too is prepared to remain at the Eagles for his entire career after spurning strong interest from the Dragons.
