Geez, you know Sharky supporters have really hit the skids when they start claiming Colin Best.

He went to the UK because he wasn't getting on with Ando... Same reason as Cambell, Howland, Treister, Graham, Rogers, Mellor, McKenna, Lang, Long, Dykes, and many more... so try buying a clue first...

Oh this is gravy

The Shark fans bagging out Colin at the start of the year, now the rights claims have came in LOL

Best was tops for Sharks, but you forgot to put copyright on him - & now he's gold ;-)

Listen up sunshine.
I don't give a flying mozzie if he wasn't getting on with Ando. What a woeful excuse that is.

Try answering these questions...

Who did Ando coach? Who's decison was it to have him as coach? Who is ultimately responsible for players at the club?

Here's a clue from me for free...
Ando = Sharks coach.

Here's another clue for free...
MrSharky = will probably avoid question.

And yet another...
Sharks = 39 years and won f**k all.

Unfortunately it was the Sharks. Not the fans. Shouldn't have been him that's for sure.

... My point is that we didn't just "ship him off to the UK" like you say... he left because he wanted away from Ando... Maybe that's just a little to hard for you to decifer?...

St George Illawarra = 7 years and won f**k all... You're well on your way gentlemen...

As expected, you side stepped the answer. Or more likely its just gone over your head.

"He wasnt getting on with Ando." LMAO.

And my point (the one which wooshed over a few minutes ago) is that Best didnt come to Saints from the Shire. He was playing in the UK. The Scum let him go yonks before that... got it?
Or is it still all Ando's fault?

FMD, you got to feel sorry for someone who thinks 39 years is acceptable. No wonder its a losing culture. Entrenched... moreso.

btw, its 'decipher' - you even spell like a scummer troll.

Dragons’ winger Colin Best has been in the best form of his career...
NRL.COM

Sharks 1998-2002
81 games - 43 tries (average 8.6 tries per year or .53 tries per game)

Hull FC (because he didn't get on with Ando) 2003-2004

Dragons 2005
21 games - 16 tries (.76 tries per game)

I was one of Best's harshest critics, but he's made a great effort since the Brisbane game to become a fast appreciated member of the side. Good on him for turning it around.

LOL. Who from the sharks lobby dismissed Best? As I recall every saint fan that had an opinion, wrote Best off as a former shark and being crap. NFI. Lucky the stint in England allows you to avoid admitting that....

The scummers must really be hurting. For a fleeting moment, I almost feel sorry for them.

I have no problem with best always tries hard but these are the facts

1-Released by Cronulla at a time when a wingers were hardly brilliant

2-He did not want to leave

3-Stuart Raper made no bid for him this season even though he was on the market

4-Was not playing near his best football when leaving cronulla also did not domonate in the U.K

5-Can attack yes but has big defenisve problems

6-The curse of St-George will see him injured

I ask you to post your thoughts on Best 6 weeks into the comp I don't think the reports will be positive?

mightysharks said:
Time will tell I have faith in Raper If he didn't want him then so be it, one thing is for sure he would have jumped at the chance to return home to the sharks like dykes and mellor but the dragons were the only club to throw him a bone, and what he did in 01 will give the dragons(steelers)no help in 05

Colin Best. Another nuffy in their backline.

Take the tip though, Simmo will be as good if not better than Best within a couple of years.

This will come back to bite the sharkies on the ar*e when he scores many tries for us in 05 particularly against the sharks. There are many sharks supporters that wish that Best had gone back to the sharks because the wingers you guys have at the moment are nothing short of disgraceful.

You guys are unbelievable. Your club didn't want him, and most fans would've agreed...now he's playing well, in much better company, you want to lay claim to him.

Ouch. I underestimated the cattiness of some Sharks fans who probably wanted him to fail after going to Big brother. I can emphasise that I never bagged Best and (as a newby to THIS forum, never crosed many shark fans that did). I did run across many Saints that did though, him being an ex Shire player. I was jealous of the purchase of Best when I saw Merrit and Simmons as the likelihood on our wings. Damn F*cking Anderson. 2 years to undo all Langy's hard work. But good luck to him. At least someone appreciates him now.

I thought this quote would support my POV, though.

Sign David Peachey.................??

No thanks, he was at best a very good NRL player, but hasn't been effective for 3 years now. The scum should show him some loyalty and let him retire on his own terms.

The thing about Best is that there was an impression that we had offloaded Nathan Blacklock, a popular star performer and proven match winner, and replaced him with a UK 'reject' in Colin Best.

Best had some big shoes to fill. His early season form was ordinary while Blacklock was scoring a shirtload of tries for Hull FC.

This wasn't entirely Best's fault. The fact is we were having a frustrating start to the season and Best's performance was just part of the mix.

I was one of those who questioned Best's abilities and I don't bag out on players as a rule. But playing outside of Mark Gasnier and with the forwards hitting their straps, Best also found some great form and has since proven to be top class finisher.

It's as if Colin Best is doing a Ringo Starr and setting things straight for namesake Pete Best and his fans... there's six degrees of separation in there somewhere (although Tingha is better than Pete Best). lol

Whenever I see Best play now, the repetitive joke is to say, "I always thought he was a good player!" Repetitive because he keeps proving the knockers wrong.

According to the latest from the love in , we have signed another ex Scummer for 06. Matt Bickerstaff, who apparently was playing in France - and therefore salary cap effective.

Another back rower.

Bickerstaff used to run onto the ball pretty well I recall. Hard to say what playing in France has done to him.
