DRAGONS SIGN HALF

Don't worry once L Plate gets hold of him he'll coach the talent out of him.
Lets hope JD or whoever can rectify it before it's too late.

This signing hints that Coyne and Demetriou
are pulling the strings. Apparently Coyne and Brian Johnston catch up for coffee at Coogee. Brian Johnston is an astute judge of talent. I telephoned him once to recommend a player and he knew everything about him.
He gave me the pros and the cons and said that while the player in question was talented he had a chequered past and they would not approach him.
We should have some great depth next year
and if Vaughan and Leilua sign we will be laughing.

Indeed.

If Vaughn and Luc do commit then that forward pack should give our halves every opportunity to shine with regards to go forward and field position.

JD as coach & Coyne as a non biased club consultant is our future.
Both seem to be having an impact on retaining valuable players and the removal of any deadwood players./ coaching staff. Dragons management MUST keep these two on board.

Clearly there is a bit of headbutting going on within the club.

Obviously someone at the club didn't want Nona, hence why he headed up to QLD.

Then JD comes out and publicly supports him. And then we sign him.

All seems a bit ridiculous to me.

Dragons twitter page has a tweet from England Squad and a profile of Gareth Widdop.
Interestingly, Widdop is announced as a half back.
The signing (TBC) of Nona who is a specialist 6 seems to compliment this halves situation.
Failing that, it must be remembered that the Cutters halves for most of the season were Hutch at 7 and Nona at 6.......they seemed to gel very well.
I for one am happy that a guy like Nona can get his chance, even late in his career, and I do hope he grabs it with both hands. I only hope McGregor doesn't do a "Wakeman" on him.
With Carr moving on, I also hope we can offer Levi Dodd an opportunity as well on the same deal as Nona.

Great news... this guy has all the potential in the world. Can kick a goal from the sideline too... will take the pressure off the mis-firing widdop
Sounds good but will Mary give him a go or play him for 10 min then dont see him for the rest of the year . Im thinking he could be just what we need if given a go .

Needs to lose 5 kilos and put on 1 metre of pace!! He's potentially the answer but way off being a first grade player - Ill disciplined and unpredictable ..

Cannot overlook just how many of our brethren are worried that Mary may stifle Nona's attacking qualities , and that goes for every player in the team .

I sincerely hope , for everyone's sake , including all Dragon fans , that Paul McGregor will sit down and ' clear the air ' with the team , during the pre-season . Harmony needs to be restored in the dressing room , and it is up to Mary to make the peace between the players and himself .

No one wants a repeat of last year debacle , least of all Mary , as he must now realise that his funeral arrangements are all but complete , therefore he cannot afford any mistakes , he needs to allow the players to have more freedom in attack and maybe , just maybe , more points will be scored .

If he can accept the fact that his attacking structures must change , and to do so , take advice from others , then there will be some hope for the Joint Venture in 2017 .

Don't worry about clearing the air, just ask McGregor to clear out his desk.

Actually I'd prefer a hutch/Nona halves combination, with Widdop in a hooker rotation with McInness. That leaves Mann and Mc Donald fighting for a wing spot. Or Mann at fullback with Dugan pushing out Milne or Aitken at centre
