I would say Cooper, but he has 1 more year left on his contract and the way he is playing, I don't think it would be best to have a short term captain. Most likely Ben Creagh, but wouldn't surprise me if they made Soward halback and captain. It would be a confidence booster for him.

Yeah, that was why I didn't think Cooper is the right candidate, would be silly to only have him in that role for 1 year. Soward could be a great choice to lock him into that & be secure with his long term future.

Josh Miller or Leeson Ah Mau.:lol:

Seriously though probably Creagh as he spends a lot of time on the field or maybe Merrin who's probably too young,but there ain't many candidates.

we dont have anyone really suitable, no natural leaders and no natural big talkers - therefore Ben Creagh will get the job purely on being a current rep player and current member of the leadership group...

I think it will be Soward and if is not it will flag the possibility of him leaving the Club at the end of 2013.

if J Smith returns from Cronulla, he would make an ideal captain.

soward = no hope.
mentally needs to focus on his own game, not be burdoned with extra pressure of captaincy..
dont forget about all the off field responsbilities captain has - three times as much as on the field..
Soward does not need this pressure at all...

Agreed. The talk of making Soward captain is just weird. He does not epitomise the Dragons spirit in any way, shape or form.

Cooper, Creagh, Fien, Merrin, Soward, or Weyman would all make excellent Captains both on and off the field and could handle all the responsibilities that come with being a Captain easily.

These are all grown men we are talking about. Not school children.

Nightingale for mine. I know he is a winger in all but he would be great in press conferences as he is a good public speaker. Another guy who bleeds for the club. If your looking for a guy who puts the team ahead of himself you can look no further than this great man.

Creagh has to concentrate and not drop a ball a game before he can be captain.

Merrin would also be an ideal leader.

After the Cowboys game maybe Vidot cause if they don't he may come out swinging those wild punches at Price.
