Former Manly centre Albert Torrens will make his debut for the Dragons this Saturday night in their round 2 Telstra Premiership clash with Melbourne Storm at WIN Stadium.

Torrens, 28, who was unavailable for the season-opener against the Bulldogs because of suspension (3 games, rnd 26 2004, Eagles v Storm), is the key change to coach Nathan Brown’s line-up.

He has also switched starting prop Justin Poore with round one interchange player Ashton Sims and named an extra bench player in Michael Henderson, with one of the five to be omitted.

Torrens replaces Ben Creagh who suffered a torn quad muscle in the loss to the Bulldogs.

It will be interesting to see how Torrens goes. Do you think Holdsworth is in PL to get some match fitness? I would have liked to see him get the 5/8 spot personally. Not a bad looking team though. I hope Reece has a better game than last week. F**K ME, FIRE UP BOYS! LET'S KICK SOME STORM ARSE!

Best is keeping Youngquest out of First Grade...
I don't know why Browny is pesisting with this bloke, especially when Youngquest is fit.
Hell, I'd take a Queensland Lungfish over Best.

Barrett was never gonna play...how often is he named when there is doubt about him?

Yep, Ben Creagh torn quad...the revolving door of injuries again. How long till Torrens joins the injured list?

Torrens could give us what we need actually, a bit of his attitude an mungrel could be a good thing for the side.

hendo has passed a fitness test today, so who drops off the reserves? or does he go back to PL to prove his spot and also to not risk us being left with a three man bench if he reinjures after being brought back to early

Yeah, Barrett's out. But how hard would we have blown up if he'd come back a wee bit under-done & aggravated his injury?!

LOL @ "sponge"...

Christmas in April, anyone??

Maybe it's just all the fans are on his Naughty list, that's why he's not visiting us.

"you'd better watch out..."

Here are the Bears line ups for Saturday

TOP OF THE TABLE BEARS FACE DRAGONS AT WIN STADIUM
Yes The Mighty Bears are top of the table and determined to stay there as they travel down to WIN Stadium to challenge the Dragons in both Premier League and Jersey Flegg. Watch the sparks fly in as the Bears come up against a former team mate from Norths’ 2004 semi-final Jersey Flegg team centre Lee Te Maari, who has been named in the Dragons’ Premier League team. Rumor also has it that the Dragons will ensure a beefed up forward pack including former Roosters player Willie Tupou. However the Bears’ even blend of skillful backs such as John Russell and Scott Webb, and steam rolling forwards will again be boosted by Melbourne Storm players Ian Donnelly, Jamie Feeney and Jeremiah Pai.

Make sure you’re there to see the result!

Saturday 19 March 2005, BEARS V DRAGONS, Premier League - 5:30pm
Jersey Flegg - 3:50pm – at WIN Stadium.
