Thanks. But I thought Toby was out this week due to his concussion?
I think that Toby's concussion may not be serious enough to warrant further time off other than the time before the next game so he has been included in the team list. He would need rest and no physical activity. I guess his situation will of course be monitored and during captains run determined if he is a goer and if not fully right, replaced by M Molo.

Not sure what game you were watching but Sullivan went at 80% tackle efficiency, Hunt was at 60%. Sullivan kicked for 184m from 6 kicks while Hunt kicked for 177m from 10 kicks. Assume you got them confused..
Just look at the two soft trys the titans scored Sullivan and bird were the two players who shirt grabbed and missed tackles hey he is young and learning but that is not nrl level.
and bird has put on too much weight. Looks like a prop and very slow. Hence why hook hooked him early.
you must be Sullivan mother or solicitor if you can’t see his mistakes.
I’ll give the kid another chance verse the Brisbane donkeys to prove me wrong.

Jack Bird is playing 13 which is in the middle, which is where props play so you know...It's not that far fetched he'll put on size & look more like a prop but hey, that's just me. In 47mins he had 113m, a try assist, 33 tackles & 86% efficiency (similar to our other middles). Pretty impressive effort for someone who hasn't played much 13. He's a power player who can ball play. Pretty spot on mins for him imo.

Yes, I'm Sullivan mother & solicitor. What are you going to do about it?

Sure he missed a couple of tackles but so did Ben Hunt, it happens with smaller players. If you're picking at a gripe, it would make more sense to suggest he should run the ball more, since he didn't do it much last game & like you said he has good speed.

Ah Brisbane donkeys, the team who beat the reigning premiers & one of the premiership favourites...

Bird has a bit of rubbish in him at times, it’s part of what makes him. However, he got it wrong badly. A young half falling of a tackle isn’t a big deal, especially when you look at his overall stats. A bigger issue in both cases is how the surrounding players supported and defended around them. we can’t afford to do that, but it is something that is rather easily fixed.

coaches should be on this, but I’m not concerned at this stage.

Sloan and Rava need to be on their toes. Reynolds will test them in the air and on the ground. Donkeys did score a couple of tries via grubbers.
Sensing a great opportunity for an Ambush Victory this week against the Broncs ... All the talk up here , is about the Battle of Brisbane in Round 4 against the Dolphins
A lot to like about what we did last week . Must bring the same levels of momentum and enthusiasm to Bris .
Must keep faith with the juniors coming through. Errors will be made esp in the high pressure games , but that is part of the learning curve.
These guys hold the key to the Club's future

Agree all anyone up here is talking about is the new battle for Brisbane. For the life of me Brisbane as a prize is a dud prize anyway. I did mention on another forum that the ponies have already pencilled in the 2 pts for this game. That can work in our favour but you still have to be good enough to take advantage of any laxities. I'm looking forward to the match ups with Hunt V Reynolds, Sloan V Walsh, the centres, Lomax/Suli V Staggs/Farnsworth . I'm not looking forward to the match ups Hass/ Carrigan V Lawrie/Bird. But hopefully it will be competitive. I'll be at Lang Park cheering the lads on.

I remember some guy at 5/8…..what was his name……some dud who guided us to a premiership….Jamie Soward….who had major issues with one on one defence. Didn’t bother Wayne Bennet. Countless halves have missed tackles like Sullivan missed. Give it a rest and brush up on your overall football smarts. He’ll be fine if he stays uninjured and Griffin is smart enough to stick by him. Our kicking game already looks way better than it did last year with Sullivan sharing the load and Hunt seems a lot more comfortable and trusting with him as as a halves partner than he ever did with Amone.
Your task for this week is to go all watch all the games played and let us know how many halves miss one on one tackles over the weekend. I’m betting it’s quite a few.

Agree young Sullivan did miss the tackle which led to the 1st try and was certainly not 1st grade standard like Hunt it's a worry. So the stat's reveal Sullivan 17 tackles, 4 missed so 25% fail rate, Hunt is the worst tackler in the competition no doubt he made only 8 tackles, missed 4 so 50% fail rate, in saying that the opposition directs their attack at him because he is our playmaker. I mentioned Hunt last season was actually ranked the worst tackler in the whole competition. It is a big worry. Griffin has shown a lack of urgency in providing protection for Hunt. In the defensive line Hunt should have been protected by our best defensive forward JDB but wasn't. In a bygone era our only premiership winning coach had the same issue with our play maker Soward but had the foresight to partner him with our hard men in defence, Beau Scott and Nev Costigan. We won the 2010 premiership and the 2011 World Club challenge. Sullivan needs protection as does Hunt. Time will tell if Griffin has the ability to do so.

I think the situation with Sullivan is we are judging him on how many NRL games ??? Having him come out of multiple injuries and a KOE cup side that wasn't competitive and poorly coached in the past couple of years exasperates his defensive issues. If he had come out of the Panthers system he would have been way better due to their strength across all the lower grades. So unfortunately for Sullivan its now like having on the job training. To me he has the potential to be a top shelf 6 or 7, so its keep playing games, keep learning, make mistakes miss tackles and learn from the experience, be better next time. We cant keep putting pressures on juniors making them think they have to win us a premiership or are responsible for losing us games, everything takes time and Sullivan deserves a fair crack at it before we hang him out to dry.

Agree just pointing out the obvious and the coach should do his job and protect him
