Dragons v Manly round 6

Round 6, we're 4 from 5 with 3 on the trot. We've also had 3 at home, but had 2 good wins away. Manly were beaten by Eels at home, then flogged by Souffs also at Brooky, before beating Cows away, flogging Bullgrubs at Brooky and beating Rorters at the death last week away.

They will be pumped for this one. So will we. Our first non Sunday game, and first 6 day turn around.

For the punters we're at $2.60 and Manly at $1.60 atm, and I'd say Dugan is the main reason for the odds although Brookvale and Manly's recent form helps as well.

Manly fans think they have this one in the bag, judging by their forums. It read a lot like Penriff and Sharks forum before we beat them.

We're on a bit of a high too, haven't seen the boys this happy for ages.

No Dugan at fullback which is no different to our last 40 mins, but with Aitken back, Sele named in the 21 as well as Lawrie, KFL (and host at #21)
it sounds like - dare I say it - strategy from the coach and it's anyones guess who the the final 17 will be, let alone where they'll actually play.

Don't know if Barrett's confused by all this, or Mary's confused but I f**king am.

I'm predicting a good hard fought win by the Dragons based on pure fantasy and severals throws of the coin till I got the silver tails.

Your thoughts?

Forward packs to be evenly matched.

They have the more potent backline but our strategy will be to put as much traffic through DCE as we can and bash him senseless when he has the ball.

Shutdown DCE, I think it goes a long way to getting the win.

Not to state the bleeding obvious, but poor ball control and discipline, well it will be a Parra repeat.

Let's hope we're not due one of those games.

There's some tough games coming up, it's almost to the point of the next few weeks being an acid test for us. We currently sit alongside the top teams but it's quite a slippery slope if you begin sliding downwards, the Dragons need to assert themselves as contenders starting with Manly who IMO have really started to hit their straps...Walker and Tommy T r my target men

We just need to take the field with Milne at right centre, Mann at fullback and Flo on his left wing. I'm sure our team would then be well balanced and up for the task. Manly's centres and fullback have been on fire so we need to be well organised out wide.

Ill take a win of any kind.
This will be a tough game

So right dragonsammy61 , this is where we shall discover just how good a team we are .
No homegame advantage as we have enjoyed for quite some time now , we are traveling to another league stronghold , Brookvale oval . ( Lotto land )

As has been pointed out both forward packs are even , so the backs could decide who will win . DCEvans has been playing great footy of late , I just hope that we can contain him and if we can , then we will have a chance of winning .

Win , lose or draw , I just want the Dragons to give a good account of themselves , and not go back into their shells , as that would be truly disappointing .

If Mr 70% was coach, it would be an easy win for the Red V, but I am not convinced by Mr 49%, Manly by a try.

All based on the forwards.
If they aim up, the rest of the team will get a roll on.

Hope McCrone decides to play for us again and not be Manlys 14th player.

Are we up for it?
Sincerely hope so.
Like Baz but have always disliked Manly, especially good to beat them at Brookvale.

Its not about Manly its about how the guys prepare.

I can see they believe in each other alot more then last year.

Funny enough two of the players who imo caused issue's are doing sfa elsewhere.

Our forwards are red hot, Gareth is taking advantage of teams weaknesses, our defence is courageous and the players believe in the game plan. While Manly have been good, they haven't shown the character we have. Saints by 12
