Rava will be picked by Hook but I cringe with him playing for us now. He has really limited skills and is mistake ridden. He isn't fast and seems to only be able to run in a straight line. No swerve or step. We need fast wingers who can either intercept or back up and score length of field tries and of course defend well.

Rava has just lost it since his long suspensions and now getting over his injuries. But, Hook will keep picking him until he gets suspended again or injured.
Rava is picked because of his kick returns. Though he is on a fine line being dropped. Needs a big improvement to stay in 1sts

Tau Tau Moga been hammered by 4 dreaded ACL tears and deserves credit for enduring a lot of disappointment and painful rehabilitation.

Kyle Stanley was a classy player for us and his 3rd ACL caused his retirement.

Moga at his best was close to the best centre in the competition and whilst a big frame it was his speed that equally worried opposition defence. Yes, last season grabbed an intercept near our try line and was holding chases at bay until the ‘bear jumped on his back‘ after 50 metres.

It’s interesting to note that he has played 10 NRL games for our club and scored 7 trys. He goes well and if his body ( particularly knee ) holds up he won’t be giving much grief if needed for NRL.

If only slow wingers came infield a bit after taking an intercept, so they are not tackled into touch.

D Fifita looked ominous running off Kieran Foran yesterday... but it looks like Foran will miss at least a week with that leg injury. So that's nice
I agree that Foran will be a loss if he doesn't play against us next weekend, however, the 17 that Holbrook will put on will be very strong and unfortunately they will be hard to beat even without Foran.

We did play a couple of tough teams in the trials - St Helens winning the Club Championship and Souths winning the Charity Shield. Both these teams are not easy beats and while we might have been beaten convincingly, those games will help us build for this year.

He did & also looked a lot more enthusiastic & vocal but still lazy defensively which we should exploit. Actually their defence on the edges were quite fragile so hopefully we’ll be able to exploit it.

You're not kidding, Doueihi and Brooks ran for a combined 359 metres. When's the last time you saw a 6 and 7 post metres like that. Phenomenal and Doueihi's a slug compared to Bud.

Run Su'a and BMM at their small halves all day as Foran will be out, drag their second rowers in who have to help out and exploit their defence on the edges. As the game drags on and Fifita and Stimson tire, exploit the space created around the ruck as well. Game plan writes itself against the Titans.

My thoughts exactly, Fifita misses a lot of tackles, I'd run our big blokes at him all day.

Thats exactly why Hook wont use it, I'm sure he will come up with a masterstroke, and he does know best.

Last year Hook won half the games that the Dragons played. Arguably he has a marginally better squad this year. Does that mean the Dragons should win more than half their games this year? Maybe I am just being unrealistically optimistic.
I'm just going to start being hopeful of appropriate selections, I'll work my way up to game plans, but my ultimate dream is a press conference full of passion, aggression, being awake and without a can of coke no sugar backed up by the odd indigestion splutter.

now if only we had a coach that could plan that way..
Parko "surely" our 5 settlers and crap clearing kick will beat this mob after all using it we won half our games last year remember ... So as if hook can do anything different and dont forget we will have a tiring prop in woods that the titans will exploit ... But I wish we could play the way you describe it is a no brainer

Toby couchman to come in for JDB. Good decision, he was impressive in the trials. Looks to be a strong body that can handle the role off the bench. Finally hook is letting the youngins take the reigns. This also means Toby is in the top 30 which is good! What you do think?

Good as long as recruitment uses this to stop chasing quality forwards.

I'm happy with this. Toby has a lot going for him and never shies away from the hard work needed in defence and attack. We need to let these young ones gain first grade experience for the future.

Good luck Toby.
