Dragons vs Hull

Let’s put it into perspective... First hit out of the year so you can expect it to be a scrappy showing and it was... some good signs watching Hunt and Widdop combine and I thought Vaughn LAM and Kerr when he got time were great... what annoyed me was how soft some of the defence was in particular for the last Hull try... really lazy stuff by I believe Sele and Host..

Next week will be more of a litmus test and having JDB and Frizz in the squad will be huge for us..

Great to have the footy back!

Well at least they have cleared the cobwebs and dust out and a win with it . By all accounts not the best but the boys got there in the end . I had a feeling that Hull may had been somewhat underrated by last weekends lost .

All in all Mary did see a few combinations at work and that's the main thing at this time of year . We can now really kick some ass against the bunnies in next weeks Charity Shield.

Just watched a post match interview with Dufty - is it just me or has he bulked up a bit? Hope it doesn’t affect his pace too much.

Didn’t get to watch the match - how were lomax/Garrick? Could they challenge for a wing spot?

Mann, Dufty, Widdop, Nighty great. McDonald classy finishing. Very strong short stint from Kurr, hopefully grabs a spot in the 17.
We were understandably flat but 5 try's against a match fit SL side is nothing to sneeze at.

Middle third D was disappointing, although goaline D was pretty good considering the amount of pressure Hull FC were applying in that first half.

All in all, a great initial hit out for the lads. Great to see so many of the juniors starting to break through into the big red V.

OK it was only a trial , we won we changed our team around good to get it out of the way . So what a difference between us and the Storm . I known the were playing for a world championship but the just do it easy ....

Think it was said they put about 6kg's on Duff. Garrick had a tough stint, and you can definitely see the class of Lomax albeit his short stint.

Very happy with what I saw in attack. Dufty looked dangerous in attack. Hunt looked good and his kicking inside was crafty, widdop was on, he'll have a massive year.
Nighty showed he is still better than the alternatives potentially.
Mann was hot and cold but surely must be in the mix.
Nene looked excellent.
Defensive effort was poor but trials tend to be that way.
Overall a good hit out.

would have liked Kerr to get a bit more time . Sele seemed to play big minutes . thought we were very scrappy but hopefully cobwebs blown away . Graham in his 20 minutes showed his attitude which should start rubbing off on the rest Maybe too many in the squad 20 probably ideal i was hoping for a bit of backline attack. I was probably expecting us too much but charity shield will give a better idea

Very impressed with Luc. I think he played the entire first half. How lean does he look? Kept on going too.

Great to see. Looking forward to the 2nd half and seeing more of the young ones.
I know people want to fall in love with big Luc but in all honesty nothing exciting to see tonight.
Defence needs serious work as he is an upper body arm grabber and whilst he may have shed a few kg's his fitness is still a concern and he was well and truly blowing late in the game during his 2nd stint.
My concern here is that he only wants to be the ball playing type of footballer but we need much more than that from him.
We certainly don't want him going down the Bryce Cartwright road.

Dugans defence will be missed. Dufty is an upgrade on pretty much every other aspect.

Dufty has left more high kicks bounce more often than what Dugan did during his entire SGI career.

It's a major worry.

Dugan is also much less likely to be manhandled in attack.
