I was late to find Dream Theater (and owe perverse for that), so I'm bummed to see they finally come to Australia the one year I'm not there

Poor old Perth had a rough time of things with venue changes and an equipment failure.

Killer set list though.

THEY'RE DOING A f**kING 3 1/2 HOUR SET TO MAKE UP FOR LOST TIME!@#% i think... yes... yep... i definitely need to go clean up...

It is DT, it's hardly an unusual set length for them, I remember reading once in BUdokan they played for like 4 and a half and Portnoy had to be hospitalised due to exhaustion.

Doesn't seem that there is an opening act.

The txt times on the blogg seem screwed up, but as near as i can tell they hit the stage at 7:20 local time, played for almost 90 minutes then intermission.
I'll stand corrected on the time of entry though.

Reading the setlist on that blog gives me goose bumps.

the pull me under - metropolis medley at the end made me blow in my pants. actually.. the whole show gave me auralgasms right the way through. the new album stuff sounds much much better live too.

they better come back! i'd preorder the tickets now ffs, rofl.

300 Sparta couldn't have stopped me from getting in those gates yesterday.

despite my totally unfair and unrealistic expectations.. they stood and delivered. big time.

Also - i believe the set list was slightly different than the ones mentioned in this thread so far. i can't back that up though (and can't remember the entire tracklist due to adreneline/euphoria) and i was in and out for regular smokos with a mate that was sitting elsewhere in the stands.

I'll admit I'm going to tomorrow nights DT concert on my own.
It's also great that they've made slight adjustments to the setlist for each city. Looking forward to hearing what they've got in store for us Queenslanders.
