By the rule book, it’s a try, but it’s a stupid rule and needs changing IMO

I've a ref mate telling me definitely No Try.

Stupid NRL all they had to do was quote the rule with their explanation but no.

I don't have the link, but what I've been led to believe in this thread is that if a player purposely drops the ball onto their foot, they're allowed the grace of it bouncing once whether it's an attempted field goal or not. If they drop it accidentally, they're not.

So by the rules, supposedly, Slater's was a try.
