We won't drop Lee, hes got too many brownie points with the selectors. But I won't complain if he is dropped. Siddle has to go though, hes solid but thats all. Hilfy or Bollinger have to come in.

Has it ever occurred to you that the reason Johnson is taking all these wickets is because Lee and Siddle are keeping it tight and creating pressure then Johnson comes on bowls his mandatory 6 balls across the right hander and 6 foot outside off stump, the batsmen's eyes light up and they try belting him to the boundary but get out because they try to hit it to hard.

LMAO

funniest thing i've heard in a long time

lee bowled one ball today that had a batsman in trouble ... it hit the crack and didn't bounce

lee is the biggest nuffy to ever thieve 300 test wickets and should be banned from test cricket

i didn't realise bowling two feet outside off stump short in length was keeping it tight

what was glenn mcgrath? keeping it virgin?

lee isn't supposed to be keeping it tight he's supposed to be taking wicket ... keeping it tight is clark's job

Funniest thing you've heard in a long time? Why do you say that? Sure Lee hasn't set the world on fire but at least he makes the batsmen play and keeps it in on the stumps. He doesn't rely on batsmen chasing balls bowled 6 foot outside off stump for his wickets.

Anyway Australia have just been unlucky with the current crop of bowler's we have. Imagine if blokes like Kaspa, Bichel and McGill were all coming along now and not 10 years ago when McGrath, Warne and Gillespie were all at their peak. Those 3 blokes would of been good replacements.

keeps it on the stumps?

f**king hell have you seen his pitch map? ... he's bowled too wide and too short and he's kept it on the stumps?

LOL that's why it's the funniest thing i've read because he isn't keeping it tight he's bowling so sh*t that the batsman have left the ball alone

Sure you ain't viewing Johnson's bowling map?

Coming back to your other point, yes I do think its his job to keep it economical, but only when Stu Clark isn't there. The other two blokes are the ones to run in quick and bowl to take wickets, Lee being the "experienced" campaigner must keep it tight, create pressure and force the batsmen to play. You have to remember, the more balls a batsmen hits the more likely he is to get out. Because if you stand there all day and let the ball go to the keeper, your not going to get out.

Agreed. The selectors have no balls and won't drop either:x

Surely Krejza isn't your long term spinner. An off spinner in international cricket will never trouble good batsmen unless they have a doosra.

Well he averages 60 odd in First Class, I am surprised that anyone thought otherwise. We either should not pick a spinner or pick Hauritz or Dan Cullen who at the least will keep the runs down per over.

Same issue with Kreija, he is very expensive per over. Plus his average this season is about 100 per wicket which is shocking. However he'd be better than Kreija at least. Aaron Heal would be another option.

the thing with krejza is he was the 18th or there abouts leading wicket taker last year lol

Exactly. As several of us worried might happen before the home summer, he's great on tracks like India where he gets a lot of assistance as his length is either full or short, and a full ripping offie is a dangerous delivery. But on tracks that give him very little turn he gets spanked. IMO we can't carry any of the spinners in state cricket at the moment. Pick 4 quicks, and use the part timers in Symonds, Clarke and Katich. They'll probably do just as well as the so called front line spinners anyways

No to the first if anyone rplaces Hayden it should be Rogers
Yes Hilfy is way better then Siddle also Bollinger deserves a shot and Bracken too

Rogers technique was exploited at Test level previously, and although he'd certainly be a better option than Hayden and I'd have no objections to him getting a run, I'd rather Klinger at this stage. Either way they'll be holding the spot for Jaques...

i mean FFS even sehwag took a 5 wicket haul on indian soil

krejza took more wickets in that one test in india than he did in an entire season of shield cricket and will hold down a spot until he retires off the back of a debut 8 for

And it was 8/215 ffs. All he did was stop India from scoring 650 when they still scored 450 and won the match comfortably.
