But I'm tertiary educated, I have worked full time, I missed the boat on teen pregnancy, I don't dress like a bogan, I still have all my original adult teeth and I don't drink or smoke. But, I do sound like a bogan (I actually developed this accent at uni though :|) and I enjoy things that bogans enjoy like rugby league and walking around in thongs or even bare foot

The flanno-and-ugg-boots bogan is a thing of the past. Modern bogans are image savvy and, as has been pointed out, usually cashed up. You won't pick a bogan by the way they are dressed - some of them dress extremely well.

The main feature of a bogan is probably how desperate they are not to appear as bogans. This includes liberal use of the term to describe others. In short, if you're calling other people bogans you're probably one yourself.

Correct...most of this thread has mixed up the Bogan with plain old white trash...the bogan uniform these days is more likely to be an Ed Hardy shirt and deck or boat shoes...They holiday frequently in Bali or Thailand and they love sleeve tattoos!!!
