Josh Dugan's State of Origin hopes have suffered a huge setback with news the Raiders fullback will be sidelined for up to a month with a mystery leg injury.

Canberra coach Dave Furner confirmed the club's fears when he said scans had shown Dugan was suffering nerve damage to his left leg.

"What we do know now is that it is nerve damage that restricts his movement," he said. "I would say he will be out for three to four weeks.

"The process we've gone through has been frustrating for all."

Dissapointed he's suffering with injury this year. While it benefits the Panthers this week, he's part of my Virtual NRL team and I truly expected him to have an enormous year after his sensational form for the NRL All Stars. He looked to be better then ever and would have been a guaranteed selection for NSW.

There's still plenty of time for him to have a big year. But another month will seriously cripple his chances of getting an Origin jersey this year. Hopefully if he's not match fit / done enough to prove himself for Game 1. He can make it back for Game 2.

Because only a special player could carve up against a staunch defensive side like the All-Star Aborigines.

Or you could have actually watched him carve it up all last year as well... Granted I guess your trying to forget last year... Where did the Eels come again? Weren't they meant to be in the Grand Final?

Don't quite know what to make of Ferguson at fullback, he should kill it in attack but how will he go in the positional play which was one of Milne's weaknesses.

The "injury" isn't as bad as reported. It's up to Dugan to over come this one otherwise this kind of thing will really hold back a potentially great career.

Interesting. The Raiders Physio seems to think otherwise. I suppose you know better. Well done.

Sorry that was a bit unnessecary.

I don't disagree nerve damage is bad, but know for a fact the severity of Dugan's isn't.

To be honest, I think it will do the team some good having him out while he gets on top of his injury.

It was obvious that it was holding him back at times against the Titans.

It is also disruptive to the team having him come off and having to re-shuffle the backline and adapt to it mid-game.

Of course it would be great to have him out there...but only after he's got on top of this injury.

Really feel for Dugan. I think he was a real chance of getting the NSW fullback spot over Hayne. Don't know about Ferguson at fullback either. I guess only time will tell. He's certainly a dynamic player and I reckon he'll be great for the Raiders, just a bit worried about how many mistakes he's got in him in a game. Hope his confidence isn't too dented after last weeks debacle.

He did far better then Jarryd Hayne did the year before. For what is essentially a trial match, he looked in sensational form for the time of the year and had he built on that for this season would have been a NSW certainty.

Especially with no real standout fullbacks so far this year.

Queensland picks their team on previous Origin form. If NSW are fair dinkum about winning they'll do the same.

Hayne was our best player in game 3 last year. He's also been Blues player of the series twice, and for the third year in a row he's carrying his club side - he's 3rd in the NRL for LBAs and equal 4th for try assists.

Sure you might hate him because he doesn't smile when he plays but credit where credit's due. If he wasn't awesome he would never have won the Dally M Medal.

Do you admit the same about Matt Orford?

Do you admit the same about Matt Orford?

Orford used to be an excellent halfback and unlike Hayne he's also won a premiership.

Do you disagree Orford was a quality halfback? If that's the case why did Canberra pay so much for him this year?
