yeah there are players ahead of him but not that many

Kimmorley, Gower, Sherwin, Orford is all I can think off maybe Finch aswell but that is borderline.
That's more than enough :D Besides... why the hell would we want him to play rep footy this year. We want him healthy and fresh!!!

In front of Dykes:

Kimmorley, Sherwin, Gower

At 5/8:

Barrett, Anasta

In front of Burt: MINICHIELLO, Peachey

So I don't think either will play rep footy.

You dont rate Darren Lockyer?

Peachey has looked brilliant for the Sharkies this year.

If any Parra player is going to press for rep selection (aside from Hindy) it is a certain player who has been named for the NSW side but had to withdraw due toinjury ;-) Minichello will be fullback, and a former Druggo now a bunny will be the other winger.

Braith Anasta is not in front of anyone.. He is THE most overrated player in the NRL, closely followed by head down bum up Petero Civonciva, who has football constipation... Can't pass the ball.

Dykes for rep honours?

Now, now, settle down people :alcho:

REALITY CHECK: He's played 2 and a 1/2 top games for us in 2 seasons of footy. I think his main goal this year is to get the monkey off his back and put together a solid injury-free season for the Eels and see where it takes us.

hehehe... i love some of the overreactions to what was a mere suggestion if he keeps up his current form.

Now, I know that players very rarely get picked on form, but some of the others that would have been in front of Dykes last year (i.e. everyone) have not gone amazingly well so far this year (eg. Gower, Sherwin). I think the move of Dykes to half-back has been a bit of a revelation this year and he seems to revel in the role. And what makes his performances this year (including trials) more impressive is that he has had to do it in a team with 2 locks and no 5/8th which could only put more pressure on him.

As for not wanting our players in the rep games, I used to agree that there was too much risk for too little reward. However, I think it would be good for Dykes to play a couple of games with some of the game's best. He's a pretty shrewd character and I think he could learn a couple of tricks and maybe bring back some tips for the Eels.

In all seriousness though, I expect either Kimmorley, Gower or Orford to be the Australian half-back for the Anzac Day test.
