Manly Sea Eagles star Dylan Walker has been charged by NSW Police over an alleged assault in Sydney on Sunday night.

7NEWS understands police were called to a restaurant in Narraweena just before 9pm following reports of a fight.

Witness statements say the altercation began after a man left the venue and tried to enter the parked car of a woman he did not know.

“When confronted, the man allegedly became aggressive and was allegedly involved in a physical altercation, assaulting two men before fleeing,” police said.

Walker, 26, had left the scene but was arrested at a nearby location.

“He was charged with two counts of common assault and granted conditional bail to appear before Manly Local Court on Wednesday 18 November 2020,” police said.

Walker played seven NRL games for Manly this year, with his season cut short by an ankle injury in June.

It’s understood he has one year left on his contract with the Sea Eagles.

The former NSW State of Origin representative previously missed the start of the 2019 season after he was stood down by the NRL under its no-fault policy.

Manly had the chance to punt him in 18/19... skint club obviously can't afford proper rehab like Broncos and Roosters.

Lemme guess .. he was simply stretching his arm out, his hand got tangled up in the door handle and he got dragged into the car. The blokes then repeatedly walked into his fists

"tried to enter the parked car of a woman he did not know"..

As you do...

I can hear his defence now. Owns an identical car and was only defending himself from the baddies trying to get him out of what he thought was HIS car.
