Early tip: Sandow won't see out his contract

Ok, didn't want to start a new thread, but whats the go with sandow. Is he playing for wenty or injured.

Also, considering Kelly has done well the last two weeks, without being exceptional, where does that leave sandow?

Do we play him in firsts, and risk leaking 30 more a game?

Do we offload him, and pick up half his salary for the remaining years?

Or do we leave him in Reggie's, and hope he asks for a release?

see if he bounces back

i don't see any other team taking him off our hands for alot of his salary .... he only has 1 more year, we aren't about to pluck a super half out of our arses - so persist with him

Sandow is the wrong halfback for a shit team, but we shouldn't plan on being a shit team next year.

hes the hero parramatta deserves, but not the one we need right now.

Wenty had a bye this week, didn't they? So that means Sandow is having a break - either through injury, through form, or through needing to rest and come back fresh.

Since he missed last week's Wenty game, then he hasn't had a run since being dropped, so I wouldn't expect him anywhere else but with Wenty next weekend, and maybe for a few more weeks after that.

I believe since the list of 12 names Ricky has (rightfully) had his eye on next season rather than this season, and if getting Sandow to experience stepping up/greater consistency/tackling practice at a lower level this year means he'll be a better inclusion in the squad next season, then why not? It also gives Ricky a look at guys like Kelly and Roberts in first grade on their own merits, if he needs to make a decision about keeping one of them on as backup to Sandow and Norman next season.

If our squad next year isn't a "better fit" for Sandow by about the halfway point, then I'd expect to see him in Wenty for the remainder of his contract, unless he gets an offer to play firsts elsewhere and asks for a release.

funny how we look so much better without him

also, how much better does Kelly look at 7 instead of 6. He's no world beater but at least he looks like a halfback and I much prefer his kicking game over Sandows.

In two weeks there's been a major improvement in defence. Coincidence?

Hopefully he asks for a release, meaning we don't fork out $$$.

and we've scored all of 2 tries in 2 weeks .... hope we don't need to win any games soon

And even with this improved defence we still allow tries on the wing unmarked.

Four of their best backs out, weather conditions appalling and a slight origin hangover might be bigger factors than anything else. Plus they bombed a few tries with our line wide open.

carrying so many poor defenders in our line forces us to compress our line leaving the flanks short.
