We are 2 and 4 (50% win-loss give or take one game) because of the strength of our team (which is average), not because individual players 'are shit' or 'not good enough' or whatever scapegoating is going on. All our players are good enough, but our main weakness needs to be addressed before anything else - that is our kicking game.

When we've improved our kicking game we will be far more able to utilise our strengths, which include the defensive line speed from our middle forwards. At the moment they are being worn down by having to make too many tackles (as well as suffering from losing forcems-back in the kicking duel). This saps the energy required to bring more aggression.

The fact we are trying to entice another half to jump ship mid season, ahead of a hooker (most popular scapegoat) or a 'damaging front rower' (next scapegoat) proves the coaching staff see it the way I do. This is why I support them - because I understand (most of) their decisions.

And you need to keep this in perspective - just because something isn't a strength (e.g. lack of a giant 50 minute front rower) doesn't mean it's a weakness.

Or we're taking the half because that is the one and only option currently being offered to us.

Having said that, I too believe a half is the priority, but lets say we signed Lichaa for 2018 and he was offered to us for this year, then we would realistically be choosing a hooker over a half then wouldn't we?

It's all in the circumstances that have been presented at the time.

Poo, you are always content with mediocrity, you are the king of Mediocrity and you actually spend all of your time fighting for it, fighting for yours and the clubs right to embrace and propagate mediocrity.
Have you ever had a good think about that?
You are like a mother with a hopeless drug addicted child, always looking for reasons to embrace his mediocrity because its a coping mechanism for you.
Dont you ever want something more than the 24/7 fight for mediocrity poo?
You are the mediocrity king Poo, why not be the king of having higher standards and the king of above average?
I 'accept' mediocrity because the only alternative for the past few decades has been utter failure. As a club we have lacked some of the fundamentals required for sustained success. Obviously I don't believe hysterical fans are one of them. In fact I believe that our hysterical fans have been far too influential for far too long, and this has not only not helped; it has actually hurt us.

But don't you agree Gaz?
Yeah, I do and in a lot of cases thats what is provided by some very sensible people on this forum (yourself included).

Sometimes though, it feels to me like unrealistic, whinging for the sake of whinging that isn't constructive or helpful. When people point this out they are immediately labelled as 'accepting mediocrity', where for me it is often just about having a bit more perspective...All good though, I know that some people on here wear their hearts on their sleeves when it comes to Parra.

You f**king idiot. These 'hysterical' fans have been waiting over 30 f**king years. Our former CEO has just been charged. Of course the fans should be influential. Their influence has just instilled change at the very top. It was unprecedented. An administrator was appointed FFS. You are a bigger halfwit than I thought you were.

When the circumstances support my point of view I'm entitled to feel vindicated.

At the moment the only thing vaguely supporting your scapegoating is our win/loss record, and the thing about such a generalised indicator is that it can support any scapegoat you like. And for the absolute simplest simpletons who can't put their finger on it, or don't have a previously nominated scapegoat, it has to be the coach, right? Absolute dumbest merkins on the internet.

f**k all to do with the fans. In fact the fans who run the Leagues Club have had the NRL team removed from their grubby mits.

I've got no issues with the coach or individuals in general.

It doesnt take a rocket scientist to work out that we would be taking the first half that came along mid season.

Even if Peats became available I don't think we should get in a bidding war for him. IMO, he is a great defensive hooker, BUT provides little in attack. Also very injury prone. If BA just wants a tackling machine then get a younger version like Lichaa. However, I think many agree that we need a No. 9 that can kick, and provide good service out of dummy half. Who that is, and more importantly who is available, I am not sure.

I just know that well run clubs don't like losing key personnel from their spine.

No but they still do. Foran, Maloney, Widdop, Luke, Barba and Keary ave all been axed from premiership winning spines. Hunt, Green, Ennis and Hodkinson from recent runners up.
