Eels Appoint Brad Arthur as Head Coach (Part Deux)

The previous admin did well to sign Arthur in the first place. They f**ked up by bowing to fan pressure and signing a big name in Ricky Stuart.

BA was brought in by Lads Kearney. Not sure u could credit that to the board. Also not sure any fans wanted Stuart. But what would I know.

I didn't trust Stuart's ability to win games and still maintain a competitive squad from year to year. But I did think he had proven to be a good motivator, and tactically he is sound.

He turned out to be a great de-motivator, but his heart was obviously never in it. We would have won plenty more games (than five) last year if he'd shown some faith in the lads. But as it is, he moved on some temporary signings faster than he needed to, and we're in better shape now because of it.

He was praised a lot by the players during his time at Manly. You guys should of never had let him go in the first place.

I think it was good he left. Was Ricky who booted him. Because now he has seen 2 sides and how they work and brought back different structures and ideas from both not just trying to recreating one (storm like Maguire)

Brad Arthur's is doing a great job, getting the best out if the players which is all I ever wanted. I wanted Taylor, however Arthur's is doing a great job proving me wrong which is very very rare

As impressive as that is, these are the only two grounds he's ever won at, which makes next week even more interesting.

We haven't won four in a row since rounds 6-10, 2010 (none of them at Parra - in fact these four wins were bracketed by losses at Parra Stadium in rounds five and eleven).

Its true that Arthur didnt put this team list together but he surely has them playing as a committed group which wasnt close to happening under the previous 2 so called coaches. Given this is Rickys roster I wonder how many games this team would have won to date under his incredible guidance. Names mean little when they are unmotivated and poorly coached. Well done BA. I reckon you could probably even get the Raiders to win a few games.
Poor Ricky having to work with Furners roster. Its just so unfair mate isnt it.
